Yeah, no. I like Colleen's suggestion, my mind immediately went to concert as well. Of course, they'd have to agree on an act...

Agreeing on an act would be the hardest part.

They all like a lot of bands in common, so picking a concert wouldn't be hard. And that "double-date" wouldn't require much interaction between the couples. Maybe it's safer that way.

Maybe that would be the safe way.

Although, maybe some conversation wouldn't be horrible.

I'm curious as to what the four of them would talk about on a double date.

1x02 has a lot of cool Donna and Jackie stuff, with Jackie coaching Donna what to give Eric. Of course, that didn't work out so well for Donna.

It didn't, but at least Jackie was trying to help. For people who think she's completely self-absorbed, it's just not true. She didn't start out that way, and many episodes show her trying to help other people -- especially Donna.

Agreed, Jackie clearly loved being in the know about the gossip, but she also helped Donna in the areas she has expertise without expecting anything in return.

Jackie genuinely cares about Donna (and people). It's unfortunately easy for some to overlook because of her vanity (and left-handed compliments).

Absolutely. Plus, she didn't get much of an idea how to express care from her family, so that must have made it tougher. In a way, Donna and Jackie have that in common. They grew up in less than ideal households.

That's true. Jackie's a compassionate person, and her reflex is (often) to comfort or give advice. But she wasn't taught the best methods of doing so.

Donna experienced a good amount of compassion from her parents, but then they go so wrapped up in themselves that they began to neglect her.

Donna and Jackie both can show compassion, they just don't always go about it in the best way.

No, they don't. But that's true for most of the characters except, maybe Kitty.

That's a very good point.

Overall, even though they had some bumps in the road, I enjoyed their friendship.

Absolutely, it is always nice to have a female friendship in a show. Especially considering that the male/female ratio was tipped towards the male side of the scale.
