I really loved DB in 1x04, but I actually liked when Blair introduced herself to him and the way she smiled when he was punching Chuck :$ But I don't know why, it's short as hell, but this is my favourite DB scene:

With all the craziness roaming around them with Chuck running schemes to get the company back. And Serena running around with Ben and helping Eric with Damien. They seem to be the calm center, being there for each other while everyone else is crazy.

it's that expression on his face when he first saw Chuck and Raina by the stairs. Parallels with Chuck and Blair and Nate in first season were made and there's a valid point there. The fact he was trying to warn her that what he saw was real affection from Chuck is proof that he does think it was real. I know that he's trying to comfort her with "he's good" by going along with her "it's just a game" belief for her benefit, but the reaction of general fandom to his reading of the line can't be denied either. it's partly Penn's acting choices and partly i think because there are still large numbers of fandom that can't get over season 1 judgmental Dan.
