^ It also helped that once Shannen left, Jennie got bumped up to a lead...giving more scenes with BK in them. At least that's what I thought. The writers just had to put them together at that point.

Well, Jennie already had a lot of prominence before S4. Her status didn't change that much in my view. She was just given a new love interest.

Well, being the main female lead does have its perks. I'm sure she was very happy being a female lead. Personally, in my opinion, Shannen was a better female lead

This 1995 TV Guide article sums it up pretty well.
What I'm saying is it's not like Kelly was Scott Scanlon or anything.  She and Brenda had equal stature through S3 and S4. Both were with Dylan, and both had plenty of focus on their personal lives. If you take the opening credits away, it's hard to name a "female lead." Actually, the article suggests that Kelly had more prominence.As for preferences, I think both actresses did good work, but Kelly is usually regarded as the more developed character. She obviously had more time on the show, but I don't think that's the only reason. |

This is where Brandon and Kelly looked their very hottest together.
I will always be Team Brenda than Team Kelly although I think Jennie is a great actress. I guess Kelly's character developed over the years but I actually started disliking her from S3 onwards even though I did like her with Brandon and Colin __________________
