I think Brenda became much relaxed about her own sexuality in mid-S2, after she and Dylan got back together, but the show was still heavily censored at that point. I guess it changed in senior year because they were turning 18 or something. (I see now that Mikela also pointed that out )

Mine too, I was really surprised to think how short the whole Dylan-Kelly fiasco could've been and how much more Brenda/Dylan we could've gotten before she left the show.

But yeah, seems it was a series plagued by unplanned storytelling after S1+2.

Yes yes and YES. So I was listening to the podcast last night, and it was "Everybody is talking about it" and Chuck said it was the first time they were going to "go all in" as far as having a sex story line for every character. They of course got back lash and had to make it acceptable. The main point they wanted to make was that Brenda and Dylan were comfortable with their relationship in terms of a sexual relationship. Chuck and his wife had said they weren't allowed to say it but that they meaning Dylan and Brenda...were very much still doing it. It was the first time the audience gets the hint, even though they weren't allowed to show it, or say it...that ever since they had gotten back together, since they made them break up and say it was too fast...we finally see them very comfortable being sexually active teens. Or at least it was suppose to show that. He challenged the network...only able to make the episode about condoms because that was acceptable. They tried to slip it unnoticed that BD were suppose to be like "hey guys F U...were still doing it and Brenda is still happy about it and they're having a great time! If you watch the little scenes here and there I noticed too. The make out with brandon and Andrea...We better head on up to bed...The can I give you a lift...eyebrows raised and Brenda leaves with him from school...The I can't believe you...this is private scene when he comes back in and they make up after he freaks out about her paper. The morning when he's smelling her and she's flirting and its the perfume he bought her...etc There are lots of little "moments" that were flirty and sweet and while everyone around them is on one side or the other...they are in their little love sex world LOL Pretty interesting.

Obviously yes s3 and them being older must have been more relaxed cause they are more out in the open about the fact they are still doing the deed. It sucks it was before they break up...the S1 and S2 episodes they were hot...I can't imagine if they stayed that way during senior year...WOAH that would have been SMOKIN!!!
