I remember either Charles Rosin or Larry Mollin from the original series said in an interview that they were disappointed that the S8 writers (who replaced them) didn't gave the characters famous jobs/careers after college. I don't have a problem with the cast having normal jobs. Otherwise, if they're all famous, they'll be too busy to spend anytime with one another.

I was fine with them having normal jobs too. Made it slightly more realistic.

It would make sense to make them start off with normal jobs...then evolve into something bigger like their own careers which most of them did.

I remembered as a kid, sometimes I wished I had Jim and Cindy as parents.

I personally don't think I ever felt that!

Ok. I always thought my parents were really strict and Jim & Cindy seemed so caring and understanding (at most times).

Yeah. Jim and Cindy seemed to be a lot looser and I think I would've made more friends as a kid. But I guess that could be a bad thing too if I hung out with the wrong people.
