2012 Critics Choice Awards Winners

Quote:
With each passing awards ceremony, it’s looking more and more likely that we’re in for a fairly boring/predictable Oscars this year. The Artist continues to dominate the precursor ceremonies as it took home the Best Picture and Best Director prize at the Critics Choice Awards. On the acting side of things, George Clooney was named Best Actor for his work in The Descendants, and Viola Davis won Best Actress for The Help. The Artist is our clear frontrunner headed towards Oscar night, and I don’t really think anything else will be able to take it down. I can’t really complain about any of the acting wins, though for what it’s worth I think Brad Pitt gave the best performance of the year in Moneyball.

Elsewhere, Drive won Best Action Movie (though it’s really a drama) Bridesmaids won Best Comedy, and Rango was named Best Animated Feature.

Golden Globes 2012 Predictions: Best Actor - MTV Movie News| MTV
Quote:
Who Will Win: Brad Pitt for "Moneyball," not only because he is a critical and collective favorite, but because he hasn't attended the show or been nominated since 2009 for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Who Should Win: Pitt or George Clooney for "The Descendants." Ryan Gosling ("The Ides of March") and Michael Fassbender ("Shame") definitely deserve to win at some point, and they will — just not this year. Leonardo DiCaprio is also in the mix for "J. Edgar."

Yeah he's filming in Thailand.

I don't think we did very good with our list last night. At least we've still got the Oscars.

I may be biased but I think the best speeches of the night go to Kate, Michelle, and Claire

Oh yes you're right Kate with her children, Michelle talking about Matilda and Claire about her parents I loved Peter from Games of Throne too, his mom said that he couldn't win against Guy Pierce from Mildred Pierce And Martin too, when he talked about his daughter Francesca

Because of the BAFTA nomination Gary Oldman moved up to the sixth spot on the prediction list. Now I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it. I think he probably does deserve it. But not over Leo. Over someone else. But that's not what it's coming down to. It's either Gary or Leo. Not both of them.

Do you know the relationship between Clooney and Pitt? I was surprised by their closeness at the Critics Choice Awards.

Yes, they're best friends or something like that since the time of Ocean's Eleven... Although I do not know if George and Angelina go so well
