Not knowing the awesomeness of Manny and Ellie is not respectable! No, you're right. The only reason I'm thankful that I watched Degrassi is for Cassie, Aubrey, Aubrey/Stacey, Cassie/Daniel, and most of all, Cassie/Miriam.
