Watched ep. 6 of The Handmaid's Tale the other day. Yvonne was great.

Yeah she was superb in that one! Any fav scene or moment?

She has 3 tiny scenes. - not much screen time at all, but she is great of course.
her one line (her first line in the ep) is just WOW. there is so much happening in it. the subtext etc.

and then she shares a scene with The Commander... which makes you feel bad for her,

and a great scene with offred where she is very clearly trying to connect... and very clearly failing.

as for this real life adorable human...

All of it was pretty great. It was just interesting to see just how involved she was in making Gilead the way it is. Also I don't remember her being a writer at all in the book so I thought that was good change. I actually liked that.

I wish she could wear her hair down more. So pretty.

I liked seeing the life she had before this all but it was sad to see that her opinion didn't matter anymore..

yup eps are released in the early hours of wednesday morning.

agreed, the 'writer' touch was very well done. it modernized her a lot and drew a very deliberate parallel between a woman with so big a voice that she was published, vs. one with no voice at all. you cant really get too further extremes then that.

yeah, it was amazing how much younger she immediately looked with her hair down, gotta say, the hair dep. and ane crabtree have done an incredible job in how they have helped build these characters through dress and style etc.

That's a great way to put it. It was such an extreme parallel between her life before and her life in Gilead.

Yes. Ane Crabtree has actually worked on so many of my favourite shows. Pan Am, Rectify, Westworld and now The Handmaid's Tale. And everything she's done has been beautiful.
