Selma Hayek Wins 'Lucy' Award Salma Hayek was honored for her efforts as executive producer of Ugly Betty at the Women In Film 2008 Crystal Lucy Awards gala in Hollywood. The woman who gave us America Ferrera was presented with the Lucy Award for excellence in television for the hit ABC show. Salma told The Hollywood Reporter: “I wanted it to be different than anything I was seeing on television. I also wanted Latin people to feel excited and proud that there was something on television that sort of belonged to them, but I wanted the American audience not to feel alienated from it.” Also attending the ceremony were Cameron Diaz, Eva Mendez, Jada Pinkett Smith, Meg Ryan, Nicole Richie, Debra Messing, Annette Bening and Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’s daughter Rumer Willis. The awards show is an annual fundraiser honoring women’s achievement in film and television. The Crystal Award was established in 1977 to honor outstanding individuals who, through their perseverance and the excellence of their work in film, have helped to expand the role of women within the entertainment industry. The Lucy Award, for innovation extraordinary accomplishment in television, was established to pay tribute to the great star - Lucille Ball.

Salma Hayek Makes New Reality TV Show A cancelled wedding is no reason to get down. Actress Salma Hayek has decided to aide other brides instead, by creating a new reality show, WENN reports. Last month, Hayek called off her engagement to Francois-Henri Pinault, a businessman and father of Hayek’s young daughter, Valentina. But in a new hour-long show, weddings will be the theme for the star. The actress and her associate, Jose Tamez, are currently developing their concept with TV bosses and executives. Respectively, the duo’s TV credits include the hit show, Ugly Betty, as well as In the Time of the Butterflies, a TV movie. Hayek is currently involved in several movie projects and will also be gracing the huge celebrity laundry list of charitable souls when she appears in “Stand Up to Cancer,” which will air in September. That's a shame about the cancelled engagement Interesting news about the show though. I'm not a fan of reality tv, but who knows, if Salma's involved, it's bound to be a bit good!

There's no news on that yet, but I'm sure the further they get with the show, the more information we'll start to get

I think it was Tom from Ugly Betty News who recently mentioned that he wouldn't mind seeing Sofia come back, sort of as a "spanner in the works" for Daniel, once he was sorting his life out. To be honest, I could make do with never seeing her again
