It's about this girl, Clary, who can suddenly see stuff other people can't. I found it was a little bit like Harry Potter, but really well written! Young Adult section, of course I can only recommend it.

Yeah, it's just that I have time to read at the moment, otherwise I hardly ever get to it myself

I've never read "Pride and Prejudice", but I should! I know many people who like it. Sometimes, it's hard for me to get sucked into books that have time-period writing. Bad excuse, I know.
I'm actually starting to read the Harry Potter series for the first time. I'm at the beginning of the 3rd book - Prisoner of Azkaban. I'm definitely enjoying it! J.K. Rowling sure does know how to capture a reader's attention. __________________

Ohhh, I'm glad you're enjoying Harry Potter. It's one of the first series that I just couldn't put down. JKR's writing style is fantastic! Especially how, even in the later books, she finds a way to explain what happened before without making it boring.

I've never heard of that series either. And... a read-aholic is a good thing!

If I ever get my works published, while it's rather flattering that people enjoy my characters and want to try to piece their own stories of situations of what could have been if character "x" had gotten together with character "y" whether it be of a romantic relationship or something less platonic, sometimes an author might feel that their visions/stories of their own character might be disturbed/distorted/ruined. Not to mention that I have seen fan fics that put characters in extreme situations that I probably shouldn't mention. Let's just say some of those fics glorify acts that are usually frowned upon. Or the whole Hermione/Snape fics going around. While it probably wouldn't matter if they focused on her when she reaches of legal age, it's just...well...weird. I can throw in another name that the creators/writers don't want a fan fic to be made out of: Archie Comics. Personally, I'm rather iffy if someone were to make a fan fic out of my works. There's pros and cons to it. I probably would be one of those that wouldn't want a fan fic to be made out of my works but would probably hold a contest once in a while to see what fans could come up with. |

And also, there's this legal issue. Because some people send their fan fiction to authors and even though they aren't going to read it, if anything similar happens in an upcoming book of theirs, the reader can sue them. I think, Cassandra Clare has mentioned it in one of her blogs that a friend of her is getting sued although he never read the story in question.

Although one of the stories I'm writing is slightly based on an storyline on one of the game threads in the RPG board on but those that were involved know about it and they're okay with it. ETA: I just realized the post I was replying to was posted last year instead of this year. Yikes. Oh well, better to throw in the two cents anyway. Last edited by Lain; 10-01-2009 at 03:50 PM |

Lion Tiger Cougar Panther Jaguar then you have wolf and Coyote breeds. the first book you follow the story of Callan Lyons and how he and Merrinus Tyler become Mates. It is adult content to the MAX.... but it is sooo good. __________________
