Will the format of the episodes change in season 4 to keep the flash forwards of Season 3 Finale?
No, there are no rules in Lost. Certain episodes will have flash forwards, others of the flash back, others will have neither one nor the other.

Jacob has been cast, is somebody that has worked on LOST, but we have not heard them speak and we may never see him speak. He could remain in the shadows. (reinforcing my theory that Jacob is Jack Bender.)
The freighter is not connected to Dharma.
There is still more to learn about Ben's background. Man Behind the Curtain was just a sketch.
The conflict between the hostiles and Dharma will be explored more in season 4.
Emerson believes the 'hostiles' were a separate research group who have assumed the Dharma work.

Scant Season Four Details

Spoiler:

- They are looking at a mix of flash backs and flash words, with a larger number of flash forwards.
- The flash forwards tell a linear story, but will be presented in non-linear format from the vantage point of different characters. (This kills the 'only Kate and Jack' got off the island theory.) The big kicker is the Flash Forwards will be shot, according to the source, in Los Angeles.
- Production will begin in mid-August and complete in March.

ABC Press Release - LOST to conclude in 2009-10 television season
Starting with the 2007-08 season, ABC will begin airing the 48 remaining original episodes of the hit drama "Lost," it was announced today by Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. Lost Rumours: Interesting Casting rumours for Season 4

Spoiler:

1) Negotiations with Harold Perrineau and Malcolm David Kelley are being made with Malcolm contract practically agreed and feelings are that agreement with Harold's people is very close.
2) Only one new actor will enter in the fixed cast, and the actor currently being sought for this role is Peter Stormare.
3) The producers have invited the actor Forest Whitaker to participate in two episodes at the start of the season.

Season 4 Rumours by JOE

Spoiler:

1. The AICN stuff about flash-forwards and flash-backs is true. It will be roughly split in half, the flash-forwards will tell a story culminating with how we saw season 3 end. That doesn't necessarily mean just Jack and Kate get off the island, but whatever flash-forwards we see will culminate with Jack deciding they have to go back and trying to convince Kate.
2. The flash-backs will be mostly from Others: Juliet, Ben, Alpert, although Desmond is definitely slated for at least 1.
3. The temple is important, and will be explored in the last half of the season
4. Rousseau isn't telling the truth about her experience on the island
5. Karl and Alex will have a more central role.
6. Sawyer and Kate will continue to be distant.
7. Locke will not be part of the main group of castaways for the majority of the season, he will be off to the temple with Alpert and then doing his own thing.
8. You won't be able to tell right away that what arrives in the ship is bad news, but it absolutely is

Spoiler:

- The rumor is true about cast member having problems on the show and they want off the show.....and they will NOT be missed by many of the cast members.
- Harold Perrineau is asking for a lot of money and does want to be a regular.
- We will meet Naomi's crew sometime next season, but no one has been cast yet...
- We will find out what happened to Annie.....it is another chapter of Ben's story that will be seen at some point early in the season...
- Alan Dale (Widmore) will be seen again...
- Nick Jameson (Richard Malkin the Psychic) will make another appearance this season...
- The season will focus on 2 (two) main story arcs that will occur during the season and will explain many of the things we are all wondering about....
- Ben and Locke will fight and that will question Locke's loyalty...
- Desmond's future is told in a Season 2 (TWO) episode and it will be tested during this season..

If they want to go with Jack and Kate, they should go for it as soon as possible. I think it already is, but the writers probably disagree with me.

I don't mind Juliet and Sawyer interacting more but I do think it would be out of character to make her Sawyer's love interest. It's been pretty clear that Kate is the only woman he's ever loved. Having him and Juliet sexually involved would be a strech at this point and with his state of mind, but I can see them going there. Love developing between them, no way.

It's possible but D&C said Danielle would get a FB. You can never go wrong if you say it will be shocking.

Did you mean is already late, or is already clear they are going with J/K? My brain is slowed down by physical tiredeness.
I don't know, even the sex to me would look a lot like the Ana/Sawyer thing, version 2.0, if it happens before Sawyer is though with his dark/confused state. About the rest, I agree with you: they went too far in showing how involved Sawyer is with Kate to make strong feelings for another woman believable. I can only picture Sawyer alone if not with Kate, at this point, and it isn't Skate bias. Not-romantic "Suliet" interaction, I would love it.
I'm sorry for how stupid this may sound, but where is the pilot in Exodus?
They also talked about Benry's softer side in a podcast, but back then I though it was referred to something we would see in S3.

I meant already late, but I also think that Jack and Kate are Adam and Eve. When Cuse said their relationship was ultimate I believe he also meant romantically. If that's the case, then they should start soon with developing their relationship. With only 48 episodes left there's no need for creating additional drama, which is what they could've been doing with Sawyer and Juliet.

Juliet already is Ana's replacement but a more educated and rafined one.

But I'm the stupid one here because I just now realized IMDB guy was talking about the finale, not the pilot.
Let's ignore this part of conversation.

It only took us 3 seasons to find out how Locke ended up in the wheelchair.

I honestly don't know what to hope for in case of a Jate scenario. Logically, and for consistency's sake, they should start to built it up now in a real romantic way if their relationship is such a key for the whole series arc. BUT, considering that I'm stuck with Lost until Sawyer is alive, I don't know if I can bear the thought of witnessing 3 seasons of Jate. Make Jack and Kate hook up in the last season of the show (to spare the audience from cringing because of the total lack of chemistry) sucks story-wise, but as a spoiler whore I would simply stop watching the last 10 episodes of the series and be able to follow Sawyer without throwing up at some scenes. Logic or self-preservation? Of course, if they had to "use" Sawyer only as angst factor for Jate, go with J/K asap. I can always download the clips I'm interested about at J-H.com if I can't manage to see certain obscenities on my screen.
