Sawyer was so down and despondent in this episode , until Kate got in his cage. Sawyer had given up.

So, they didn't have their usual banter and flirty relationship , but the sex made up for it.

Leah Kate posted some episode reviews.

From a few more reviews.... This guy hated the ep, and hates the triangle, but I still like what he said about Kate's choice.
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/c...hould_sta.html

Quote:
The Lost producers kept telling us that Kate was finally going to choose between Jack and Sawyer like most of us still cared. Maybe it's just me, but it was pretty clear all along that Freckles was picking manly-man Sawyer over do-right doc Jack. I mean, even Stevie Wonder could see Kate has zero chemistry with Jack but sizzles like a cat in heat whenever she's around Sawyer. So when Freckles and Sawyer finally did the nasty in a stinkin', dirty cage (ewwww!), it was kinda anti-climatic.

And this one is really long, so I won't post too much of it, but look what he's labeled the musical score.
Key Points from "I Do": Lost Blog

Quote:
Juliet breaks off the conversation and calmly walks toward Kate. Kate, remembering Sawyer's comment that Juliet would have no problem planting a bullet in her head, grabs her pick-axe and tries to hold it menacingly. Juliet isn't impressed. She holds out a burlap hoodie and asks/instructs Kate to put it on.

Kate is astonished; there's no way she's going to wear that burlap hoodie. Maybe if it was a fleece hoodie with a cute little ball on top, but burlap? Uh-uh. Juliet, as usual, has the upper-hand. She tells Kate that Pickett is going to kill Sawyer unless Kate helps Juliet. Kate's lip quivers and the opening bars of the "Kate-Sawyer Love Theme" swell on the soundtrack. Kate grabs the hoodie and pulls it over her head.

These bits are also good...

Quote:
Sawyer bows his head. He didn't tell her because he wanted to her to believe they still had a chance.

Sawyer's admission soothes Kate. Actually, that's an understatement. It doesn't just soothe her, it turns her into a full-fledged horndog. She kisses Sawyer. Sawyer kisses back. They stop and separate for one of those "what are we about to do?" moments, then they start kissing again. And then the kissing turns to groping and the groping turns to undressing and the undressing turns into ... WHOA! Bear cage sex! And of course all this happens while the cage is wide open and Ben is watching via his porno cam.

Quote:
Pickett has only one goal: turn Sawyer's head into a splatter pattern. He stomps through the open cell door. Kate feebly tries to block Pickett, but he tosses her aside. With Pickett's attention momentarily diverted, Sawyer clocks Pickett across the chin and makes a grab for the gun. The two grapple against the bars. It seems like Sawyer might gain the upper hand ...

But Sawyer looks toward the other end of the cage and sees that Pickett's Dharma drone has Kate pinned against the bars with the business end of his gun planted on her skull. Kate tells Sawyer to fight Pickett, but Sawyer's soft spot for Kate is enormous (as is his not-so-soft spot) and there's no way he's going to let his beloved's brain take on a bullet. He backs off.

And this also made me laugh...

Quote:
"You remember what I told you on the beach, the day of the crash? Do you remember what story I told you when you were stitching me up?" Jack asks, harkening WAY back to the opening moments of season one.

Kate doesn't answer. Jack grows angry.

"DO YOU REMEMBER!" he barks.

"Yes! Yes I remember!" Kate says (finally).

Jack lowers his voice to a normal, non-Hulk register.

Love the reviews! Thanks for bringing Leah's post here, Maria!
Stevie Wonder...!

My short version of thoughts about the episode:

THE BAD:
1) the whole captivity just to convince Jack to operate on Benry? Were Kate and Sawyer brutalized, beated, treated like animals, only because they had to break down and end up begging Jack to do the operation to save them? Did the Others, who have contacts with the external world and scientists there, did all of that, the mindgames and everything, have no other reason than them needing Super Spinal Surgeon Jack? Lame storyline.
2) the "great cliffhanger" so much pimped before the episode aired. Will Kate run away with Sayer but without Jack? Will Sawyer survive? Too bad the promos they showed us 2 minutes after the episode endede answer to everything. I'm sure sci-fi/mystery lovers are really pissed off right now.

THE GOOD:
1) O.M.G. Skate. Skate everywhere. Beautiful, sweet, tender, pure Skateyness everywhere! GUHHH!! Kate's concern for Sawyer, she wanting to give him his strenght back, to save him no matter what it would take, her fears about leaving him or not seeing him even for a second, "James", the way they made love, the way you see how much they need each other and finally learned to accept that, the cuddling, Sawyer anxious about her response to his comment on the "I love him" line to Pickett, her choosing facts (kisses and smiles and looking at him straight in the eyes with the most peaceful, content expression ever) instead of words (the "I love you"s so abused with her husband Kevin, words that weren't enough to make her stay and face the truth with him), the "I love you too" from Sawyer, they sleeping so close, Kate's desperation, Sawyer's "Close your eyes, Freckles". Kate isn't running anymore and finally saw what Sawyer means for her and all he did for her all along, Sawyer ready to recognize the full force of his feelings and finally rewarded with the same openess, passion and love from her.
My little shipper heart died so many times for so much awesomeness!!
Just perfect. Everything. I still can't believe we got so much! GUH again. And again. And again... Oh, Alex's "boyfriend" and Juliet's "you really care for him"... awww, as in the premiere, the writers made other characters point put the Sawyer/Kate bond/relationship to remark what us, the viewers, should see.
2) Loved the character developement: Jack waching Sawyer and Kate together and choosing to "let it go" and help his friends putting his own life in danger, Kate not running anymore, fighting and concerned not only about herself, but mainly about Sawyer, and Jack, too, not wanting to leave him behind because she probably knows he will be in serious troubles for what he's doing for her and Sawyer. Sawyer accepting his feelings, accepting to love and be loved, deciding to give voice to his worry for her, choosing to ask her if she meant the "I love you" because now he's ready to finally receive something good. This episode and those actions saw blossoming all the seads put along the road: Jack letting go of Sarah, and having a little hope back thanks to the Red Sox moment you snap him out of his defeat acceptance, Kate not running away and going back to her cage in Every Man For Himself, Sawyer and the Benry's speech about love and needs on the hill sinking into him.

Josh rocked this episode. The could read every feeling, every thought on his face, looking into his eyes. Give a nomination to our man already!

Sorry for the babbling, still too excited and happy and squeeing and...
Ok, you got the idea.

On a Skate front, this episode delivered a hundred percent. But I was disappointed with the cliffhanger.

Josh was amazing as per usual.

I certainly was. I thought it would've been something island related. All the fanboys were ticked off.

Can I say that I totally forgot about the "mythology" part during the episode, better, during the whole mini-arc? I wanted so many answers in the summer, then after the premiere aired, I was so invested on Sawyer, Sawyer and Kate, that I have to say I didn't mind at all how much screentime the characters got instead of the island/Others stuff. I felt the writers wanted to set up the characters development for the whole season (Locke back in action, Sawyer Kate and Jack sorting out their emotional baggage, and much more...), and what they put in the flashbacks remarked that choice to me. Aside from the Jin/Sun-centric episode, all the other ones were there not to raise questions or a new light on the characters, but to remaind you of who they were, so you can see more clearly the steps ahead from that they took/are taking thanks to the island experience. Watching the show mainly for the characters, I found beautiful what they did from that point of view.
Sure, the Others storyline has many holes and didn't convince me, but I guess they would really begin to explain that in the February episodes. I also hope in the second part of the season we'll get the "big" stuff about the Losties' pasts (for instance, why Locke couldn't walk).

And don't feel too bad for the Jaters, they are still trying to turn Kate's choice being Jack , or saying that yes, maybe she loves at some level Sawyer... but she loves Jack more.

Just 2 other things:

A) where can I find the rating for this first six episodes? I'm so hoping Kate and Sawyer's episodes went good. *_*

B) Kate: what you working on?
Kevin: just finishing some I.R.s on that fugitive recovery out of Tampa.

Am I crazy or you thought about Sawyer too?

Maria has the ratings. But I DO know that all the eps that featured Skate heavily were the highest rated.

And that was totally yet another pre-island connection between Kate and Sawyer.
