What the reasoning is for barely using him this season when he proved himself to be one of the best actors on that show in the previous one is beyond me. Surely they're not operating on a "one season we'll use you, next we wont" basis .

I think the plans for this season have been heavily influenced by the FF twist last year. They've focused on the Oceanic Six storyline, which also included the freighter and what they wanted from Ben, and Sawyer, Locke, Claire... and everyone who we know now wasn't "needed" for the building of the mainland storylines have been put on the backburner.
What I wonder is the importance the island will have in the future now that figures the writers value so much like Ben and Jack are away from it.

What is frustrating is the fact that I passed from being optimistic about Sawyerr in S4, to being optimistic about the second part of S4... to being hopeful about S5.

What I wouldn't give to see another performance by Josh as magnificent as in The Brig. If only TPTB would give him the right material to work with.

I'm hoping the finale is a multi-centric episode about the Oceanic Six, Ben has already been the whole point of Juliet's flashback and will be heavily involved in episode 9 (in case it's a Sayid episode).
