Misha did say in an interview that there were talks of him possibly getting on board longer. He said he'd love it. I think Kripke and Co. would be idiots not to consider that. They seem really pleased with him and how the story is going. I am just worried that once the war is over, Castiel goes back to heaven. They'd have to find a way to keep Misha around. Maybe keeping him as the vessel would be interesting so long as he keeps elements of Castiel in the character. Obviously I want the angel entity to stick around though...

Bobby/Jim has more than earned the right to be uped to a regular!

Which is something I can't really say for Castiel/Misha, as much as I love him... at least I can't at this point, anyway.
The mere fact that as an angel he is somewhat detached from humans, sets him aside, and it might be more than a little difficult to have him on regularly and it not seem forced.
I think they should keep him on reccuring this year, and most probably opt to bump him up next season.

EXACTLY! It's so unfair, especially when last season, Katie Cassidy and Lauren Cohan were listed as regulars with the boys, and Bobby is a more important character than their two combined

Anyway, to be on-topic slightly, I agree that I'd love to see Castiel become a regular, but being that he's an angel and all, I don't think it's very likely

Oh yeah, I'm having withdrawals from going without him for 2 weeks now!!! I really hope he's back this week.

Yup if anybody deserves a regular spot it's Jim, he's put in his time and the fans love him, it was like a slap in the face to fans and even Jim I'm sure when the girls got regular status and he was still recurring.

I'm worried what happens after the angel storyline too, it is a storyline that can't be dragged out, but I've really become attached to Misha/Castiel so hopefully it's something that takes a long time to get completed, after all there is another character on the show, that we've waited two years to get some kind of info on and still NOTHING! so why not drag out Castiel a bit, I doubt he'll ever be as boring or annoying as that other character.

Nooooo! Don't say that! Although you have a point, I think this storyline will take a bit longer then just one season to play out though. Once you've involved Angels and the existence of God you can't really ignore them and pretend it never happened. But whether Cas will last is another question.

That's a good point, it wouldn't make sense to introduce this whole new angle to the mythology of the show for only one season and then to ignore it altogether. So maybe that means Castiel can't be a regular, but...maybe he could still be a special recurring character? *looks hopeful*
