Nope. (I was actually surprised by the casual way Sam asked Isaac and Tamara what got them started hunting in The Magnificent Seven") Liked how Bobby pointed out that everyone got into hunting for a reason.

I kept thinking about what it must be doing to Dean, having to watch Bobby like that, thinking he was losing another father figure.

Oh, personally I hope not. Any love triangle would be out-of-character for the boys. We've seen how quickly Dean steps aside when he sees that Sam's interested in a girl (Sarah in Provenance comes to mind) - I honestly can't picture the two of them actually competing for any girl (even one I like more than I do Bela ).

Oh, I loved that stuff so much. The way that Dean just blurted out "You're like a father to me!" probably not even meaning to say it, and the way it really did get through to Bobby - just perfect.

And then the one thing I didn't like about the episode - Bela.

The rest of this post is about Bela, and it's not exactly positive. So, since I suspect that I'm somewhat of a minority, I wanted to warn any Bela-lovers. Feel free not to read - I was just really upset about her part in this ep and I feel the need to rant.

Okay, up 'till now, I've been neutral on the subject of Bela, telling myself that she's the adversay for the boys and good for that role. But this episode has officially made me hate the character. Like, not just disliking her because she's the bad guy or something, but she's actually affecting my enjoyment of the show when she's on. I couldn't stand the character in this ep. As you pointed out, the boys saved her life. Saved her life after her own greed and disregard for the lives of countless innocent bystanders put it in danger in the first place. And what does she do? Why, she betrays them. Again.

And why are they even talking with her, much less practically handing her the combination to a safe holding their most precious belongings and inviting her to help herself? Honestly, despite Sam's dream (and where on earth did that come from?), the show itself has yet to give me a single reason to feel that Bela has any redeeming qualities, and I don't get why the boys let her get away with half the stuff she's done (shooting Sam, stealing from them repeatedly, putting innocent people in danger over and over again just for her own selfish greed, selling them out to a dangerous lunatic who wanted to kill Sam. After they saved her life! I don't get it. The fact that they keep trusting her at all makes them look stupid.

The show may do something later to show that really, she's not so bad. Just misunderstood. But truly, I'm afraid it's too late for me by now. Which really upsets me, because I don't actually expect her to go away any time in the near future, so I wish I was okay with her. Maybe if they full-out make the boys treat her as an actual enemy (they way they would anyone else who's betrayed them and recklessly put them in danger the way she has), then I'll be able to handle it better.

That was creepy. And cold (the whole thing with the abusive father). Not saying that it was necessarily wrong, or that Sam had much choice (the guy was trying to kill him and Dean, after all), but still, it did disturb me to see Sam do it. He's getting harder and harder all the time, seems like.

So, Sam knows what Dean's going to become if he goes to hell. Wonder if Dean actually told him, or if Sam was able to figure it out. He's a smart guy - Ruby was human, went to hell, and is now a demon. Not that hard to connect the dots (although it's not like Sam has a problem with attempting denial - while he says he's not sure "even Ruby can help" Dean, he apparently hasn't totally given up on her assistance yet. Guess Dean didn't tell him that part of the conversation with Ruby).

I'd like to think that Dean told him about the conversation with Ruby or more accurately parts of it).
It would also make much more sence for Sam to be at the bar, drinking if he was actualy told the stuff about demons and hell.

I like to think that Dean told him, too. Because I hate the boys having secrets from each other.

But, if Dean was going to keep something from Sam, something like "There's no way you can save me from becoming a demon because I saved your life" would definitely be up there on the list.

I agree, he'd keep that from Sam over anything else.

Definitely, I think that's definitely one of the things Dean would keep from Sam, there's no need to add to Sam's torment already

Yeah, but it's Dean; he will always, always have that mentality of protecting and shielding Sammy

That's what I meant. Even after what he went through last season, keeping the secret from Sam (and the way Sam reacted when he did find out), he probably hasn't learned his lesson. "Protect Sammy" is Dean's prime motivation in life.

yup, it practically is ingrained in Dean's blood, to protect Sam is his prime motivation and he feels that he really needs to do that too

No matter how much Sam shows that he wants to protect Dean just as much as Dean wants to protect him.................
