I would love to see Rachel in a project exploring the beauty of friendship. I tend to love those on the small screen, series such as Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn 99 which portray friendships in such a positive way, and especially female friendships.

As I posted in the OT thread, J.J. Abrams bought the rights to My Glory Was I Had Such Friends. While I like to fancast Rachel in every interesting project I see, I think she might be too young for the title character. But I really love the sound of the outline.

I hope Game Night might touch upon it

While the tweeters seems to have forgotten Rachel's Oscar nom for Spotlight, I get his point. I think it's in the lines of what we have discussed how Rachel often does the best with what she is given. I agree with the tweeter, that Rachel has yet to have landed a role that has Oscar contender or Oscar-bait movie written all over it.

I know I'm biased here, but I feel like once Rachel gets a role that allows her to show everything she got acting-wise that she will surprise people!

I'd love to see her a true drama where she's the female lead and takes on men when she finds out that they are only holding her back. She's done a lot of supporting roles in recent years, and quite frankly, with her talents, yes, she shines as a supporting role, but she can do so much more as a lead actress.

I just watched Jessica Chastain's Miss Sloane, and Jessica's performance in that movie makes me wish Rachel would sign up for similar movies. I mean, just look at Chastain's filmography. It's full of fierce leading women who won't take no for an answer. In some ways, Rachel does pick roles who are like that, but not enough, in my opinion. She has the box office draw, but not the Oscar bait filmography that certifies her position on the A-list. Instead, her hiatuses hold her back as the Emma Stone's, Jennifer Lawrence's, and Margot Robbie's of the world snatch up more leading lady roles. In fact, I would say the more these actresses snatch up these type of bossy leading lady roles from Rachel, the more ground she loses on the box office appeal aspect that she can play when negotiating for roles. However, with such good reviews coming in for Game Night, perhaps the buzz around that will maintain her box office credibility.

I hope her next two/three roles are roles where they're truly leading lady parts, not supporting roles. I'm optimistic about the next Doctor Strange movie, if it happens. After Wonder Woman, I feel like Marvel will give their female characters a bigger part now that they see that women are willing to shell out money for superheroes.

For example, if there's any way Chastain will back out of The Division, I'd love to see Rachel take up that role. Rachel has played the rough badass girl role before, in True Detective, but no one saw it lol. I'd love to see her play up against Michael Shannon or Christian Bale. That would be amazing.

you know what? there's been so much talk of Rachel's figure skating ability in the promotion period for "Disobedience" at TIFF, that i wonder why she wasn't in the considering for Margot Robbie's I, Tonya.
