And if Herman lives, I hope he congratulates her but I strongly believe it will be the opposite. I think the surgery will start well and gradually fall apart as the episode goes on. I don't see Herman surviving the surgery.

I feel bad for Amelia and Arizona, they are the ones who are going to be the most upset. I wonder why the episode is called "this distance". Doesn't give much of a clue. If it gives us more Owen and Amelia I am all for it.

I hope they aren't switching Japril being distance from each other to Owen/Amelia being distance from each other

Oh I didn't think of it like that :o i was thinking more about Amelia going the distance in the surgery. I went to read the lyrics of the song, there's a part where it says "she's all alone in her time of need". I was thinking this applies more to Amelia, not japril. But it could be for both.

Yes the part about speed and driving as fast as he can is definitely Derek. It really resonates with a lot of them. I think that's true of a lot of the titles. Jackson sounds like he's haunted by something he can't define.

It's an Amelia-centric episode, which means Amelia is in every scene. I doubt it has anything to with Japril. When I first saw the title, of course my first thought was MerDer, since Derek is literally on the opposite coast, but it's clearly all about Amelia since it's a centric episode. Also, Shonda once said that they don't choose episode titles based on the lyrics, that they choose it mainly on the title alone.

Yes, I know it's Amelia centric. I just didn't know what was meant by the title. Reading the lyrics helped me understand the title more. Parts of the lyrics sound like a certain character doesn't necessarily mean it is what it is. I still think the title has to do with Amelia going the distance in the surgery, doing everything she can, she is in a race against the clock (this we know from the sneak peek, that she gets behind in her time, it's why she takes off her gloves to speed up).

I have a hard time believing the whole episode is in the OR, though, although we know Meredith is in the OR at some point, so it's possible she'll say something about Derek. Hm...
