Alright! So I was a little bummed that there wasn't a friendship thread for Alex and Derek. I think they have a pretty good bond, with being connected by Mer and I think Alex really started to warm to Derek after he helped with Izzie. I also noticed that Derek didn't look at him or act like he hated him when Alex ratted out Mer and almost made them lose Zola. There were some tough times for them, but they have become stronger as the seasons go by.

What is your favorite scene between them? Mine is when Alex asks Derek for advice after Izzie's diagnosis and he says "What if it was Meredith?".

Also, what should this thread be called? I think Alex/Derek is a bit boring....

I'm trying to think of a good name for them...maybe something about their differents point of view. I know you haven't seen season 9, but that's an issue with them at the end of S9.

Thanks for telling me. I really want to see season 9 now! LOL! I've only seen clips of it on youtube

You said the issue is at the end of season 9.....I saw the deleted scene of the both of them during the storm, Alex was taking care of Bailey (the baby) and it seemed like they were ok.....was it in a previous episode?

Yeah it was the episode before that. It was a difference of opinion because Alex sees things is shades of Grey, like Mer and Derek is all black or White (like his mom pointed out). It was interesting. But in that same episode Alex referred to Derek as his friend. And in the finale they were ok.

I'm trying, at the moment, to write a fanfic with Alex, Mer and Derek. It's going to be a "will you look out for her" talk between Alex and Derek with a little snapshots of certain scenes afterwards.

yeah. I don't think Meredith told Derek much about Alex's past, he seemed a little lost for words there when Alex told them what happened to his sister.

"No, like really kill her. He went after with a butcher knife." I think that would shock anyone with a "normal" family like Derek has. Though, really, I don't believe in perfect families...no one is perfect or can be perfect and the families who are claimed to be perfect are far from it. Yeah, Alex had a hard childhood, but I think Derek had one too with his dad dying and all and his sister getting addicted to drugs. I think Derek is a little lower in the "worst family" category than Alex, but they still had it hard in some aspects.
