What we know about Shonda is that she doesn't believe in happy endings and weddings or marriages. So sooner or later she breaks up every couple and makes them just friends. See Japril or back then Callie and Arizona. So your feeling might be right that she is more interested in close friendships than romances.

I think Alex would bother Bailey as long as Meredith is going to get her job back until Bailey bursts. But Meredith does not want to do that, Alex is about to deal with Bailey.

As long as she keeps the friendships going strong then I wouldn't mind too much if that is what she is going for. All I care the most about is every character being able to be happy and for some friendships is what makes people happy.

Alex is definitely gonna fight for Meredith no matter what!

Not right away. Too much happened in the last few weeks. They can't just drop it and go back to normal. First they have to deal with their own problems, than they can live together again. This will take some time.

It's definitely not over, if there's one thing that scene portrayed, it is how much love there still is between them. Things are messed up at the moment for sure, and there's some anger, Hurt and confusion - I saw all that on both of their faces - but I also saw relief and happiness on Jo's face and the love on Alex's. So I'm not giving up on them, I just hope that it's not turned into an awful love triangle because it's the last thing Alex and Jo as characters need.

I always say as long as the characters live or the actors are still on the show anything is possible. Sadly Shonda destroyed many couples in the past where we thought they would be endgame, stay together forever. So nobody knows what is going to happen. Only Shonda knows and she won't tell.
