I love the progression between Voight and Jay. For me this has been one of the relationships in the show that developed the most.

In the beginning Voight didn't like Jay at all. Not just for a man for Lindsay, but also as a cop. Now he progressed to trust Jay to be the sniper when Voight is negotiating with criminals, he is OK with Jay and Erin relationship and he even admitted that he is lucky to have Jay in his unit.

The scene in the first Season 1 that is part of the clip is one of the best from Season 1 for me. Two men being straight and honest with each other. I love the fact that they respect each other even though they have sometimes different opinions and views how to their job.

Your comments are spot on and I hope to see more scenes between Hank & Jay. It's really nice to see their relationship progress from dislike to cautious admiration to total respect.

Their relationship definitely has had wonderful development thanks to the writers. I really enjoy their interactions now. It's kind of based on mutual respect and trust, as well as that they both care about Lindsay of course.

Exactly. It was long, but steady progression. I don't think that even Hank expected that a moment will come where he will not just like Jay as a cop, but he would also be totally OK with him being with Lindsay. I think that the Season 3 premiere was an eye opener for him. He realized that Jay and Erin have a lot more than just mutual like and banter. Both Jay and Erin showed then how much they mean to each other.

It's one of my favorite non romantic relationships in the show. They don't share a lot of scenes, but whenever they do it, it's always a pleasure to watch for me.

I think they are at this point where they do trust each other 100%. I remember in season 1 that Jay didn't trust Voight at all. They've come a long way.

To be honest I never understood why Voight doubted Jay as a cop. I get why Jay rubbed him the wrong way when it came to questioning his methods or when it came to Lindsay because let's be honest oh they were flirting even back then.

However I still don't get why would Voight question him as a cop. It's not like Jay was rookie out of the academy. He obviously had been on the force before joining Intelligence and he was even detective before that. Not to mention his military background. It's not like he had to learn the basics in the unit.
