It doesn't need to always take THAT long either, lol, because I remember how fed up I was with Bones before they finally took the plunge. But damn, at least build it up over a few episodes? Even THAT seems to be a dying breed.

And if they're leads and they're supposed to be the OTP, I don't want to see some random guest star come in and be written as more important than the original couple.

I think too many shows are trying to be "edgy" and have a "different formula", and at this point having any build up or staying remotely loyal to original characters IS something different, lol.
Of course, Josh had some experience with the former, but sucked at the latter. __________________
