Small news, but I emailed Origin Features about this and I got a reply saying that the movie wasn't finished yet.

I think there must be substantial legal and/or funding issues.

I read on imdb awhile ago that they had problems paying the extras or something? I wonder if that has something to do with it?

I think that was sorted out. But there is still that law suit with the Director of the film and Im sure there is a whole bunch of other stuff.

Was bored today so I decided to look into this movie a bit further.

Apparently a new co-producer was hired back in May of this year. And according to the producer's website, on September 29th 2008 "Miale locks picture on feature Dont Fade Away". I assume that means the job was successfully concluded?

So that's as recent as the end of last month, maybe there is hope for this yet! I've emailed the producers website so hopefully they'll write back.

I keep trying to find new info on this lol, and I just stumbled on a brief interview with Ryan Kwanten.

Apparently they move only just finished filming, lol! This interview is from October 2008.

And since they only finished filming a little while ago, the movie must still be in post production.

Ryan> There was a film that I was 90% of the way through, before True Blood started, so there was 10% left of the film. For the last year and a half, while we’ve been shooting the series, the producer and director have been waiting for me to finish the series, so they can finish the last six days. So, I’ve done that. And, I’m testing for other films. Jumping from character to character is quite hilarious.

*********> What is that film that you were working on before the series?

Ryan> It’s called Don’t Fade Away, and I play a Los Angeles music agent who is living a very superficial life. He gets a call from North Carolina, where he grew up, and he hears that his dad has bone cancer. So, he goes back to North Carolina to deal with a lot of the demons he has with his father, and then also to find true love. He also finds that the only reason that he got the call was the fact that he was already dead. It sounds a little crazy, but it really, really works. It’s a very intelligent script, written by Luke Kasdan, who’s the nephew of Lawrence Kasdan.
