Life was easy for Jackson White. With looks, brains, and athletic ability, the world's possibilities seemed limitless. But, when he came to New YorkCity to pursue a career in the music industry, he was so seduced by money and status that he lost track of who he was. Now, with both his personal and professional lives on the edge of ruin, he's been called home to care for his dying father. While in North Carolina, he'll have to confront the friends he lost track of and the girl he never met.

Another news blurb:

"Could it be that low-budget indie-flick Don’t Fade Away will be the first film to truly capture the cultural essence of downtown Asheville? The $1.7 million cinematic vehicle for The O.C. star Mischa Barton has booked a surprising number of local haunts for the shoot. According to sources within the production company, locations such as Barley’s, the Orange Peel, Haywood Park Hotel and The Mountaineer Inn — not to mention the local Hooters — will be used for shooting. But the reflection of local culture doesn’t appear to end there, as an outdoor music event bearing a striking similarity to the Lake Eden Arts Festival will also appear in the film. Strangely, the film appears to have practically no online presence — typically considered to be a key buzz-building tool for indie productions — and even the film’s title doesn’t appear on search engines such as the Internet Movie Database. This makes confirming some rumors, such as the cameo appearance of rapper Ja Rule in the film, difficult at best. The film is set to wrap local production at the end of November."

I live in North Carolina not too far from Asheville; I was able to confirm that Mischa was filming at the Haywood Park Hotel on Wednesday, November 9th.

Love your work, Liz :D

I got bored. Hence the quickly made banner. I'll try to make something a little more elaborate later, lol.

That's Mischa's co-star Ryan Kwanten, btw. And that's a real street in Asheville.

He used to be on Home and Away - just like Chris Egan.

That banner! The road, the trees - thats exactly how Im picturing the movie.

Had a go at making a banner as well:

Eeeeeeeee! That's beautiful! I'm really looking forward to this. I think Kat is going to be really cool and unique when it comes to Mischa's characters. And she's finally getting romantic lead movie roles with Pampinea, Ethel, and Kat.

Sam_MC 11-12-2006 07:06 AM

Thanks :D

Im also really looking forward to this movie. Its sounding really cool and understated. Im nervous about it being an indie cause I dont want to wait four years to watch it.

And yeah, the fact that she's the romantic lead in so many films is awesome :D And then she seems to be the lead lead in Hexxx and Malice.

Indies don't always take that long, lol. The Oh in Ohio was special; a lot of them come out in a year or a little less after filming. Looking back at when Lost and Delirious was filmed to when it must have been released, it wouldn't have taken very long.

Sam_MC 11-12-2006 07:10 AM

I'll take your word for it.

Harvard Man might be the only indie Ive seen. And that didnt take too long to come out after filming.

Hopefully this comes out before or around the middle of next year.

This sounds like a great movie for Mischa!!!

*spazzes out*

I wonder if she has finished filming DFA? How far away is NY from NC?

Cristofle 11-16-2006 05:57 PM

As a flight, not far. A couple hours, maybe. She could easily fly there and back if they don't need her for a few days, or something. On the other hand, I think they're supposed to be done by next week. So they could have shot her stuff in a block.

Sam_MC 11-16-2006 06:02 PM

I still cant believe its not listed on IMDB.

Cristofle 11-16-2006 06:06 PM

IMDB is slacking these days, lol.
