is there a chance for the board to still remain open even if no one applies? I mean i would try to stop by and post whenever I can and my offer for helping on rough patches is still there

No qualified candidates have applied to moderate this board. We're going to extend the application deadline for the open moderator position on this message board one last time. The new application deadline date is now 6:00 PM GMT on Apr 21st, and we've updated the first post on this thread to reflect this new date. Please note the following: If no qualified candidates apply to moderate this board, it will be closed. Every board here needs permanent moderators, and we can't have Moderator Support Team Members moderating any board indefinitely. Therefore, if no qualified candidates apply to moderate this board by the new application deadline date, a closure notice will be posted on the board the Sunday following the application deadline date, and the board will be closed one week from when the closure notice is posted.

Well I wouldn't say never. A board needs to have at least one moderator for it to remain open. It also needs posters (although the posting requirements are suspended for the time). Without that, then yes, it may be closed. This opening has been designed to imply that I'm stepping down, which also was a misunderstanding as I'm not, but completely understandable why Sarah posted what she did . As in the case that I was stepping down & no one stepped up to apply, then yes the board would be forced to close. But since that is not the case, then the board isn't at risk of closing based on if a new moderator is appointed or not.

Although I have not been around in a while, I would make a conscious effort to post here more often if it means that the board can stay open - although I would not be able to mod again, at least not at this point. I am so sorry you've been sick, Karen. I hope you start to feel better!
