but I was 'comparing' it to the other one and only the picture, not the scene

It was cute but you are right it was a bit odd. I can't say that my husband and I sit at the dinner table holding hands... as a matter of fact we sit across from each other so that would make it very difficult. I wouldn't mind holding Scott's hand though.

In this situation I can see why they are holding hands. They have laughter in their home, their son has found a friend (not the one they hoped for, but still) and they think everything will turn out ok after all (or something like that)

I like the holding hands at dinner too. I didn't find it awkward. Maybe Scott's smile is a little awkward, but it doesn't bother me. We don't have kids at home, but my husband and I have our feet touching while we eat dinner. And when we got out to dinner, we do tend to hold hands when there is no food on the table.

The big photo of Scott is a great photo. I don't like the goatee thing but he still looks yummy!
