Here's Selby Abbey, which is in my town, and was founded in 1069 by William the Conqueror. It was very badly damaged by fire in 1906 and it too could have become ruins, but was thankfully expertly restored. Here's an article on the abbey, and a few of my photos of it from more recent years.

Some photos I took in my garden a while ago. Unfortunately I don't have a macro lens, but I do my best with the standard lens on my DSLR camera. I crop some of the photos too.
