Chris, that's sweet of you to take your mom to the doctor.

i had a great birthday. I went to the movies, got a massage, got my nails done, and had dinner/drinks with friends.

Thanks! She's adorable. What kind of dogs do you have?

That's sweet Hope your mom is doing okay

Pfff, just a couple of hours ago this accident with a bus happened less than 5 minutes from my home (the bus jus crashed into an office), right on the spot I was cycling less than an hour later (when I saw them pulling away the bus). No casualties (yet), luckily, but 9 seruiously injured, and the driver is in pretty bad shape. Hope she'll be alright.

Lizzy, I have a 3-year Boston Terrier and a 4-year old Toy Poodle.

Mascha, that sounds horrible. It's good that there are no casualties.

Hey Chris & Cece!

I went straight from student teaching to listen to Donalyn Miller speak at a meeting today. She published 2 books on reading instruction that got pretty popular around Texas. But also known in other parts of the US (not sure beyond that how known she is). It's of course geared towards educators. But yeah, pretty interesting to hear her speak and we got a selfie with her!

Mascha - that's scary about the bus accident. I'm glad you're okay.

Lindsay - how's your week going?

Cece - glad you enjoyed the presentation.

Looks like I'm in for another hot and humid day.

Our temperature was in the high 80's but the humidex brought it up to mid 90's. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

All of this talk of AC reminds me how much I miss central air.

Welcome to DeepWoods!

I'm always confused when you all talk about temperature in Fahrenheit. We always go by Celsius here because we don't have seasons.

Cece, looks like you had a fun time at the presentation.

Lizzy, I'll try and post a pic of them but I'm at work now and I don't have my personal stuff with me. Having a pet was something that I never really wanted but when we got a dog (the poodle was the first one we had), it changed the atmosphere at home.

Yeah, don't know what's going on with the weather - last weekend it was around 87 °F for 2 days.

"Working" from home today - or at least I try to. I usually fail miserably at working from home.
And how is everybody else?
