Thanks for the info BigOnSATC. I feel like that info is almost pretty dead on, although I don't want to believe that the girls would have a fall out. I mean why can't they just do it, make loads of cash, and be happy. Like I said what other movie could Kim be doing that is bigger than a SATC movie. I has seen SJP on other things like, the Golden Globes, and she was asked questions about the rifts and if Kim has been the reason. Of course she wouldn't say yea or nay. I hadn't heard the possibility of the movie being back on though, thats great news!! Do you know any links or addresses where we could send MPK an email or letter ourselves?

I remember hearing that Kristin hinted on one of the late night shows that one person was against the movie, and when they asked if was Kim, she got quiet and wouldn't answer. I don't know how reliable the thing is because I never saw the actual show she was on..I just heard about it.

Hi. I know we'd all like to believe that the girls were great friends just like the characters they portrayed, but apparantly it just wasn't so. SJP was quoted many times before the show ended saying that they really didn't socialize off the set. And she said that the only girl she thought she would see with any regularity was Cynthia (because they both live in NYC and are both involved in the theatre). She has always been very diplomatic about the questions of feuding between herself and Kim. Everything I wrote in my previous post was in the media. Of course, we'll probably never know the whole truth.

The reason that I tend to believe that Kim is largely responsible is that her story has changed. First, she said she couldn't do the movie because she had committed to another project. Then she said that she wanted to do the movie, but there was no script (that was unwittingly refuted by Cynthia on Emmy night). On Emmy night, it was said that Kim had asked NOT to be seated with the other girls. She was seated on the other side of the aisle. Interesting note: Kim's escort for the Emmys was Darren Star, who had to woo her to take the role of Samantha after she had turned it down. THe speculation was that maybe he was doing that again on behlaf of the movie.

As far as the movie being back on, no one will coroborate what CNN reported ("In Touch" Magazine reported it as well). It's odd though, because CNN is owned by Time-Warner who also owns HBO and TBS. You'd think they'd know the truth. However, the more time that goes by, the more it looks like it may not happen.

Actually, many posters on the HBO website started a domino campaign when they first heard the movie was off (back in May). They sent in a domino per day for a month to let Michael Patrick King and HBO how much they wanted the movie. I'm sure that addresses can be obtained from their website. (I'm not sure what I'm allowed to post here) There is also a petition that everyone can sign, created by a woman from the Yahoo groups. I can post the link here, if I'm allowed.

Kristin Davis was on David Letterman when that exchange took place. He pressed her on the subject of Kim, and she finally admitted it. Dave went on to say that the movie could be made without Kim. Kristin agreed.

Thanks for the information on all this! You are quite the source of information.

It makes me so sad that the girls had a falling out with Kim.

I knew I wasn't going crazy with that Kristin Davis interview.

I'm sure that Kim had some great reasons for it, but making a movie without Kim woud've of worked, imo

You think it would still work? I don't know. Part of the whole dynamic is these 4 very different girls being close friends and such. I couldn't imagine a movie without all 4.

Don't worry about it.

And what are you talking about? You are very good English.

It is sad that tensions between the girls may mean that we'll never have a movie.

Glad I could help about Kristin.

The ideal scenario would be to have the full cast on board for the movie. I still think that a movie could be made without Kim. Being a huge Carrie and Big fan, I would be satisfied with a movie centering around their relationship. For the last 2 seasons, we've been largely Big-deprived, and the last 6 episodes prior to the finale were particularly painful to watch, with all the screen time given to The Rooskie. Many of the Carrie/Big fans feel that the ending was a little rushed., and that we were deprived of the full big ending we deserved.

If they made the movie without Kim, wouldn't you go see it anyway, just out of curiosity (and to fill the void of no new episodes)?

You can post the link to the petition on here. As long as you don't direct link another message board it should be fine. I would love to send my two cents in. I too had heard some of the comments that you told about Sam changing her story. But, I didn't realize that Darren had taken her to the Emmys, very interesting indeed. And, of course I would go see a SATC movie with no Kim. It wouldn't be as good as seeing all four of them, but I'd still have to go check it out, probably 4 or 5 times. I feel that if they wanted to badly enough they could write Sam's character out of the script. As someone said elsewhere, she did have cancer at the end of the season, which is an easy way out if they needed to proceed without the character of Sam. And, I can feel your pain when you said that you felt the ending was rushed. I thought for sure when Big declared his feelings in "The Domino Effect" that they would continue out the season and we would get to see the two of them be happy together for once. But, for some reason they felt the need to feed us the Alexander mess. I knew the girls weren't close off the set, but it still looks like they could just put all that aside and hell, if nothing else, think about the money and the fans. But, I feel the longer they wait will lower the response to the movie. If they are going to do it, it needs to be started soon.

I agree Michelle, it would need to be started soon.

Found an article on Google about the finale and this is how it ended.

Quote:
But in addressing the question two weeks ago, co-producer Parker waffled like a politician on the stump.

"I haven't made any decisions about how we might revisit this show and in what medium," she said, citing several projects that might keep her busy for the immediate future.

"It's very important to me that we are dignified and graceful in our exit from the (current) series," she added. "After that, if we hear a cry from the public, I think we have to respond to that, if we can do right by them."

So maybe more "Sex and the City" lies ahead. But until then, at least, the ladies are living happily ever after.
