Ellie seems pleased to see him at first, and Sean tells her all about how he's back from Wasaga Beach for good and plans to open a car shop. He's done a lot of growing up. However, Ellie still holds animosity towards Sean for abandoning her, and when he suggests getting back together she turns him down. The next day, when applying for a job at a garage, Sean meets Jay who appears to already have a job there. Jay is thrilled to see Sean again, and tells Sean if he needs a place to stay, his door is open, in which Sean accepts until he can afford his own place. He notices that Sean seems down. When Sean tells Jay about Ellie, Jay decides to cheer him out by taking him to the parking lot where the street races are. Although Sean seems uncertain about it at first, he agrees. He ends up having fun, and even participates in a race himself and wins. The next day, we see him enrolling back in school, where he chats up with Spinner and Mr. Simpson. Later Sean is having a coffee at The Dot, Ellie walks in and apologizes to him for being so harsh before. He tells her he understands. They talk about the shop he wants to open, as well as how he feels coming back since the shooting. Sean then invites Ellie to hang out with him, Jay, and Alex at the parking lot, and she agrees. She enjoys hanging out with them until she realizes that Sean participated in illegal street racing. He tells her its no big deal, but she tells him it’s not her scene and leaves. Sean is disappointed, but Jay tells him to forget about it. Later that night, while another street race is occurring, the police show up and start arresting people. Both Jay and Sean run off. Sean runs to Marco and Ellie's, stating that Spinner told him where she lived (as it is now their official hangout). They talk about what happened earlier and Sean convinces Ellie that he hasn't gone back to his criminal ways. However, the cops show up at the door, as it turns out he was being followed. He is charged for street racing, referring to the last one in which he was not involved in. Ellie is worried as Sean is pushed into the cop car. He is relieved when a prison guard tells him his bail has been paid. Just as he nears the station entrance, he sees Ellie waiting. Ellie tells him she got her mom's help to get the money to bail him out. Sean thanks her but doesn't sound too grateful. He is annoyed that he's only been back for less than a week and already he needs someone to bail him out of his problems. Later that day at the Dot, Sean tells Jay all about what happened. Jay feels bad that Sean got caught when he didn't, and tells Sean that at least the worst is over. But Sean is still angry and lashes out at Jay, indirectly blaming him for every time things went wrong in his life. Hurt, Jay lashes back at Sean, calling him a coward for wimping out and running to Wasaga after the shooting, in an attempt to hurt Sean in return. Feeling worse, Sean storms out. At school, Ellie shows up to have lunch with Ashley. They talk about Sean and how Ellie really feels about Sean being back. Ellie tells her about Sean getting arrested, and how she is not sure to believe him when he says he plans to turn his life around. Ashley tells her to give him a chance. Later at the garage, Sean tries to cool things down with Sean, as he knows he was just in a bad mood. But Sean appears to still be in a bad mood, and doesn't want to talk. Jay asks Sean if this was about what he said about Sean running back to Wasaga, in which Sean angrily states that nobody seems to get how hard it was for him, and that the shooting still haunts him. Jay tells him he needs to let it go, but Sean tells him he won't. The next morning, Sean is back at the Dot, sitting by himself by the counter looking lost in thought. He prepares to leave when Ellie walks in. Sean apologizes to her for not seeming very grateful for her helping him, and tells her about his fight with Jay and starting to feel guilty about it. Sean decides to go back to the garage and reconcile. When he finds out Jay is not there, he decides to go down to the ravine to look for him. Once there, he sees Jay come out of a van, drunk. Jay runs up clumsily hugs Sean, and offers him the beer in his hand. Sean refuses it, but then several other people around the ravine recognize Sean and start "welcoming" him back, all of which are either drunk or high. One scantily clad girl goes up to him, asking him if he remembers her, which he doesn't. When she locks her lips with his, Sean almost gives into it. But then he pulls away. Jay tells him to sit down and relax with old friends. Sean tells him he hasn't been into this stuff for a long time. Jay begins to taunt him about being a wuse again. Sean angrily shoves Jay, but Jay shoves back and starts lashing about what he has been going through ever since Sean decided to bail. He goes back into the van and Sean takes off. The next morning, Sean meets Ellie at her house, and they talk about what happened. Ellie offers him a place to stay with her until things with Jay cool down, but Sean says he thinks now that they have gotten stuff off their chest they will be okay. He tells her how being at the ravine topped with the whole street racing incident just reminded him of why he wanted to be better. Ellie informs Sean that the guy she knew was already better. She tells Sean that she wants to be there for him as his friend, if he's willing to accept it. Sean says he is. Sean and Ellie have gradually become closer over the last few weeks, and they hang out at her and Marco’s a lot. They act like close friends, but there is a noticeable tension that they try to pretend isn’t there. At school, Sean and Ms. Kwan talk about how he’s adjusting since coming back from Degrassi. Sean tells her that Ellie insisted on helping him with homework if he needs it, so he’s going to try and work as hard as he can so she won’t have to. Ms. Kwan is glad to hear that. Later, while Sean is in the hallway on his way to the washroom, he finds himself having haunting flashbacks when he reaches the spot where he and Rick struggled with the gun. He rushes off to the opposite direction, bumping into Mr. Simpson in the process who was approaching from behind. Mr. Simpson notices that Sean looks upset and calls out to him, but Sean doesn’t turn around and walks straight into the boy’s washroom to contain himself from falling apart. During Media Immersions, Sean has a hard time concentrating, in which Mr. Simpson notices. Once class is over, Mr. Simpson approaches him and asks him if he was okay. Sean tells him he’s fine, but Mr. Simpson notes that he noticed Sean was standing in the exact spot that Rick was killed. He tells Sean that maybe he needs to talk to someone, like Ms. Sauvé. But Sean turns down the idea. That night, Ellie invites Sean to come over for dinner, as Marco is out with Dylan and she doesn’t want to cook for just herself. Sean accepts, and pretends to like what she cooks. He asks her how her classes are going, and after getting into how stressful it is, she asks him about school in return. Sean tells her it has been good, but Ellie notices his answer sounds uncertain. After hesitating for a moment, Sean tells her about what happened the day, remembering shooting Rick and then Mr. Simpson suggesting he see Ms. Sauvé about it. Ellie points out the déj * vu, and asks him what he thinks he should do. But Sean just doesn’t think that counseling sessions just aren’t his thing. Ellie reminds him that she used to feel the exact same way. The next morning, Sean hesitantly makes a drop in visit to Ms. Sauvé’s office. She asks him if he wants to talk now, in which he states he just wants to get it over with. The session starts with Ms. Sauve asking the inevitable question, how he feels being back after the shooting. As the session goes on, as Sean gives short answers to all of her questions and can’t express his feelings. He finally feels stupid and storms out. Back at Ellie’s that night, Sean tells Ellie about what an idiot he was dropping in there. Ellie tells Sean she knows where he’s coming from and doesn’t blame him. Sean looks at Ellie and asks her how she overcame it, and Ellie tells him it took time. After a moment of silence, Sean tells Ellie that’s he’s very grateful to have her right now, as he feels he may have come back to Degrassi a little in over his head. The next day after school, Sean approaches Mr. Simpson and tells him that he is prepared to make more visits to Ms. Sauvé, even though he knows it’ll take some getting used to. Mr. Simpson is happy to hear this. He asks Sean is he’s with Ellie again, in which Sean tells him not exactly. Mr. Simpson tells him that he has always thought she was good for him. Sean finds Ellie waiting outside. She asks him how his second session with Ms. Sauvé went, and Sean tells her he’s taking it slow. Ellie tells Sean that she doesn’t want to be Sean’s savior, she wants to be his equal, someone he can always talk to about anything. Sean asks her if she’s sure that’s all she wants. In which Ellie leans in and kisses him. Sean tells her that’s what he wants, too. What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost Part 1 Craig Manning is back in town. His friends are excited to hear about his music career and Manny is eager to resume her role as his girlfriend. Sean is first to learn that more is going on with his old friend than he is letting on when Craig insists that they make a stop at a "friend's" house for some party supplies. Craig makes an attempt to remain casual about his cocaine usage but can’t help but feel flustered and defensive when Sean is obviously not comfortable with the situation. Craig feels that old spark returning with Manny despite their lack of contact over the past few months. Manny, however, can’t help but want to bridge the gap that’s slowly been building and in a lapse of judgment, feels that using drugs with Craig will help bring her closer to him and further into his world of friends and music. The couple attends the dinner party at Marco and Ellie's intoxicated. Once sober and seeing Craig with fresh eyes, Manny breaks up with him. When Ellie discovers Craig's cocaine, he sees no harm in blaming his ex. Ellie complains to her boyfriend about Craig's dinner guest bringing drugs into her house and Sean clues her in. Ellie feels helpless and concerned for her friend and tags along with Craig to his stepfather’s house to help prepare for his move. Sober, moody, and itching for a high, Craig finds himself confessing that things aren't going so well in Vancouver. It's harder to get his foot in the door than he thought and even more difficult to make friends. Ellie tries to lift his spirits and in an effort to help him out, she lets him tag along at an interview with the band Taking Back Sunday so he can network. "Well, it must be easier to see Joey now, since he's closer and all," Ellie says as she watches Craig pack another box. "I don't really see him that much," Craig says and pauses to stare off. He couldn't see Joey lately. Then Joey would know he'd been right about Vancouver. He should have stayed here in Toronto and graduated high school instead of playing back up for a crappy band and picking up their coke habit as well. "You'll have to keep coming back here, you know. Thrill us with your presence," Ellie encourages and hopes her tone isn't too forced. She is trying to be optimistic around her moody friend. "Right. Like you'll all still be around. Manny's already proved how quickly everyone bolts," Craig declares as he forcefully sets down another box. He hoped it wasn't apparent how badly his hands were shaking. "Maybe you should ease up on the drugs, before you lose everything you have. Sean told me about the drug run you took yesterday. I know the coke is yours." Craig sighs and remains silent for a few moments. "What is there to lose when you don't have much to begin with?" he finally says. "What about your music? If you spend all your time and money on drugs..." "It never really took off okay? It's harder than I thought it would be and I really don't want to talk about how I'm playing back up with people I don't even know and it's music that I don't even like." "Well, we all have to start somewhere. I'm less than thrilled with the crap my editor assigns me sometimes. It's even worse when he bumps me off a really great story," Ellie said and then snapped her fingers. "I'm interviewing the band Taking Back Sunday today. Come along, network. Maybe you can land a gig as their opening act. I know the band that was going to open flaked out on them." Craig agrees and accompanies Ellie to the interview, even though he'd much rather pay a visit to his drug dealer. He can't help but worry what happens when he runs out of cocaine. Craig manages to sneak away to do a few lines and his buzz is heightened when he lands a gig as their opening act at a local club. His rehearsal gig goes smoothly and afterwards, Craig encourages his friends to head out to celebrate with him at a club. __________________

What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost Part 2 The party atmosphere of the club makes it easy for Craig to fall into the old pattern of drug use and he finds it difficult to stop once he’s started. Things start with repeated trips to the bathroom and shaky hands and quickly escalate to flippant remarks to his closest friends. The evening on the town ends when Craig makes an attempt to start a fight with another club goer and the altercation results in Spinner stepping in and getting punched. The gang is anxious to separate themselves from Craig once they arrive at Ellie and Marco’s. With everyone in bed and Craig alone with himself, he can’t help but keep using. The drugs, combined with lack of sleep, result in a spectacular panic attack that leaves Sean and Ellie wondering if a trip to the emergency room is in store. Craig is talked down and finally collapses into sleep. When he awakens the next morning, the first thing he does is snort more drugs. It’s obvious to his friends that he’s in need of help and they decide to confront Craig about his behavior. "Whoa, what happened to you?" Craig askes Spinner, who had a nice shiner on his right eye. "I guess I'm not the only one who got crazy last night." "You don't remember? I stepped in and got decked because you started something with a guy that would've kicked your face in," Spinner explains. "Do you really not remember, Craig?" Ellie askes. Craig doesn't reply. "Man, if you can't stop and keep going until you think that you oded..." Sean said. "That was just some anxiety attack. I'm stressed about the gig with Taking Back Sunday tonight," Craig explains. "That is not what's going on," Sean says "Then what is going on?" Ellie presses. "I don't know if you think this is helping you or what but it's not. You crash when this is all over. Are you aware of your moods?" "Are you my shrink or what?" Craig snaps. "What do you want me to say? That there's some big reason for all this? What if there isn't? What if it just happened?" "Craig, you are doing cocaine. People who abuse drugs aren't happy people. What's going?" Ellie says. Unfortunately, the confrontation is poorly planned and Craig takes control of the situation. He brushes off the encouragement to get help and says he’ll stop by group and then he has to go ahead with his performance. Craig’s a no-show at group therapy. Everyone is there to watch him hit bottom as he gets a bloody nose on stage and cannot finish his set because he's too high. The episode concludes with Sean and Ellie waiting with Craig at the airport. He's heading home to Joey, who's been informed of the situation, and going into a rehab facility. Love My Way Ellie Nash is feeling the freedom and the strain of university life. In fact if it weren’t for the fact that her boyfriend Sean Cameron is finishing off his 12th year at Degrassi, high school might be a distant memory. Ellie is enjoying working on the campus newspaper, although it has been proven to be difficult to be respected (her editor has even annoyingly dubbed her “frosh,” as if that were some reminder of her rank in the office). The workload of her classes is a bit of a drag and she’s already feeling the pressure of her major but to date, Ellie has felt like she can deal. Currently her living situation is a full house and she’s beginning to wonder if the dorm on campus would give her some peace and quiet. The gang’s pad is full of love life drama and the stresses of university. Ellie can't help but feel like she's being overlooked at home with her dramatic roommates and also on the job with the newspaper editor piling on stories and taking credit for her stunning article on the stabbing of Degrassi student JT Yorke. She arrives home after a long day wondering how and who to address her work problems with but is only greeted with a sarcastic and frantic Paige and Marco rushing off. At least she’s got her steady boyfriend, although he’s been feeling less than rock solid lately since returning to Degrassi, or the scene of the crime as he sarcastically calls (Ellie knows this is code for “That whole shooting? Yeah, it still kind of bugs”). Sean attends a family dinner with Ellie and all in all, it seems to go well. Ellie still feels that twinge of worry whenever she’s around her mother and the house she grew up in can’t help but stir up old memories, as well as some new doubts. “Your dad, he’s a good cook,” comments Sean as he looks around at what was left of Ellie’s old room. He’d only been there a few times back when they started dating the first time, but never stayed there too long. Ellie, back then especially, wasn’t fond of extended visits to her home due to her mother’s ongoing condition. “Yeah, he learned to cook in the Army actually…” she responds, but is seemingly distracted by something else. “And your mom…” Sean doesn’t finish that statement, as he was more hoping that by the time he had gotten it out he would have something more encouraging to say. “You can say it Sean. I know you’re thinking it,” Ellie begins, shaking her head at the thought of her mother at the dinner table earlier, “she’s really good at it, y’know? Putting up an act? It’s what she does when she knows ‘other people’ are watching. Pretends everything’s perfect…everything’s ‘cool,’ we’re ‘fine.’ One big happy family.” “Putting on a show… Yeah, my parents know a thing or two about that.” “Funny thing is, she’s not even that good at it sometimes. I just hate having to constantly watch her, and worry that she’ll slip and something’ll happen to her again… get hurt, or hurt someone else… or…” Ellie sighs for a moment and looks back at Sean. “I just don’t want to end up like her.” “You won’t—“ “Really? People say that it’s inevitable; we grow up to be like our parents. It just happens. And then what, huh? My kid has to live with this constant worry? About me?” “El, don’t worry, you’ll do better. You’re not your mom,” Sean assures her, grabbing a hold of her hand. “You can’t help it, it just happens,” she says, looking past him to the calendar on the wall behind him. The sudden realization of the day hit her with an unexpected blow. She looks down at her hand still intertwined with Sean’s. “Whether you’re ready for it or not…” It was in this rare moment where things are slow enough for her to think that she realizes that her period is late. It’s been fairly easy to avoid thinking about her late period, since time has a tendency to slip by so quickly with her busy lifestyle and she knows that she and Sean take the proper precautions. El's convinced that it must be stress related, but since she is sexually active now she has to be sure. Her world feels like it’s crashing down on her as her pregnancy test results come back positive. If she's pregnant, her and Sean's lives have just changed dramatically and Ellie can't help but fear that it's for the worst. Don't You Want Me? Ellie can’t help but try to distance herself from Sean, physically and emotionally. She can feel herself falling into old patterns but when things get tough she wants to close herself off and shut down. While she knows that it’s not the most responsible decision, she just can’t get herself to make a doctor’s appointment to confirm that she is indeed pregnant. She can’t get herself to tell Sean about her worst fears either. She makes an attempt but all that amounts is concerned or confused gazes from Sean. The further Ellie pushes Sean away, the further she dives into her school work and newspaper assignments. Ellie refuses to lose control but feels herself slipping as she internalizes too much and begins to crave a release, the kind of release she used to achieve through self injury. Things feel normal when Ellie is in Sean’s arms. She feels safe and in control. And she lets herself go, her guard down and forgets about it all…including her recent scars from cutting. She’d been trying to keep it a secret, wearing long sleeve shirts and refusing to dress when Sean’s around. She had even created a new hiding spot for the supplies she uses to cut and treat her wounds. Her secret is blown when Sean sees her scars during a heavy make out session. He lifts her long sleeved shirt over her head and tosses it to the side, more interested in continuing to kiss Ellie than being concerned as to where any of their miscellaneous items of clothing landed. Their bodies hit the bed as Sean’s kisses travel down to the nape of Elle’s neck and find themselves focused there while his hands make their way to her own. Sean stops for a moment when he feels a slight wince from the girl underneath him and looks over at him arm seeing very new cuts. “El…” he says softly, shifting over to the other side of the bed, and looking at her. She doesn’t look at him as he continues, “I thought… I thought you stopped cutting.” “It’s just…” “Is something going on? Is it your mom, is she drinking again? School? What?” Sean searches for answers only to see her continuously shake her head at him. “Is it… is it that editor guy? He giving you a hard time?” “No… it’s not that… it’s not him. It’s… there’s a lot going on right now… to deal with.” She seems like there’s more she wants to say, which he can tell, but is afraid to let out. “And I’m here, you can talk to me,” he insists. “I just wanna help.” “I’m… fine…” she lies, words stumbling out of her mouth. She turns to face him, tears forming in her eyes as she tries to silently convey the words that won’t come to her, and says nothing. “Ellie…” “I’m pregnant,” she finally admits. “Are you sure? Did you take a test?” Sean asks. She nods her head softly. “Came out positive… two pink lines…” He now realizes that the situation is a lot realer than he thought. After allowing himself a moment to register everything, Sean takes a deep breath. “Well… we’ll take you to a doctor’s and figure this all out El… I’m here, everything’s going to be okay…” Ellie’s head falls on his shoulders as she takes his words in and wonders how she could handle motherhood, if it all, without turning into her worst fear… Sean accompanies Ellie to her doctor’s appointment. They both know they have to face reality. The tension mounts but by the end of the appointment, they are given good news. They are not pregnant. Ellie’s missed period was likely the result of stress and the pregnancy test was faulty. A talk on the importance of safe sex follow and the awkwardness increases as the doctor voices his concern about the cuts on her forearm. Ellie reassures that she has the problem under control. It was just a slip. In the clinic hall, Ellie is hit with a whirl wild of emotions. She can’t help but shed tears of relief, confusion, and the guilt of having slipped into the habit of cutting. Sean does his best to comfort his girlfriend, reassuring that they are in this together and while he’s happy with the news that she’s not pregnant, he would have made life the best for Ellie and their child because he loves her. He would have been a better parent than his and he’s 100% sure Ellie would do the same. They may not be ready for a child now, but when the day does come, he’s sure that they will do a great job loving their child. Ellie is touched by this moment that reflects that Sean is with her for the long haul. Ellie is in need of some serious R&R and can’t wait until midterms are over and it’s holiday break. After a serious cuddle session on the couch, Sean suggests that they hit the winter formal at Degrassi tomorrow night – she could use some fun. The couple recalls the end of the year dance in grade 10 and how they are finishing out their last year of high school and first year of university together. It won’t be the last year of Sean and Ellie. __________________
