That is a perfectly acceptable and probably healthy way to navigate things like relationships on social media. But here's something I hope Andrea didn't hold back on...
andrealewis If there’s an opportunity to talk about what REAL representation looks like, I’m going to take it! And we dive into this on @thevulnerablepodcast with @thechristycarlsonromano , I’ve been fortunate to play a lot of “best friends” on screen, and I’m glad to be a recognizable Black face, especially when I was younger. But the truth is, that lack of storylines, of dialogue, of real encouragement on set, 100% inspired the work I do today as a creative! There was nothing more frustrating than being a teenager without the right language to express how you were being treated like a second tier talent in a movie or television show. I recently had lunch with @only1giovonnie and we had a long and therapeutic conversation about the challenges of being a BLACK child actor, and the experience of building your career with a lot of “token” roles, which is unfortunately the name of the game sometimes! Well, maybe there's a little bit of a mention of Degrassi. For better or worse. __________________
