I don't anymore only because outside of this thread, I feel so outnumbered. It's exhausting being the one voice of dissent. Especially something like this when it seems like everyone should be on your side, and inexplicably, they're not.

Pretty much, though I wouldn't put JT dying in the vein of the aforementioned subjects. The gay blogs had an edge mainly due to AfterElton/AftenEllen covering Degrassi almost exclusively because of the lack of gay media/characters whereas Degrassi is just another teen show in a media landscape that occasionally gets coverage. If this was on a major network (even on the CW which is barely one), they'd be more of outcry but it's on TeenNick, a channel a lot of folks don't even get. We probably should've notified some media outlet when this episode first aired, no one probably wants it now, old story.

And yeah, I didn't think Holly J's tweet or the flowers was really indicative of whether or not they'll end up together. I like to think that the writers realized the ****storm from LL and just left it hanging so the fans and haters can decided if they ended up together. For what it's worth, I mentioned this in Unfortunate Implications page of TV Tropes and in the recaps, but I took a Your Mileage May Vary stance. Maybe I should rewrite that one. Watching that episode again, I see what the writer was doing with the theme of the entire episode but it was done clumsily.

Ugh, Love Lockdown was on TeenNick early this morning. I did not watch it. It is still one of the most upsetting episodes. I can't believe TPTB didn't realize what they were representing was rape, not regretted sex. I've never fully come to respect the Degrassi series and how they handle issues after that.

At least MTV gets it. I don't know if Love Lockdown was brought up to Linda during the interview but I remember this article was retweeted quite a bit so they read it. IDK. Just feels like it was acknowledged. A little bit satisfying.
