Mel We had a cold front come through yesterday and it's COLD and dreary here now. Should have a frost/freeze tonight.

We spent the weekend camping, probably our last camping trip of the year. We camp more in the summer than any other time, but fall camping is nice too.

Today would have been my dad's 99th birthday. He was born on Halloween. We used to Joke and say "Dad is the trick and I was the treat"!!! My birthday is November 1st!!! I will be 66 years young!!!

Time change again here; daylight savings time ended. I do like that it's lighter in the mornings now when I go out to feed and water the cats. It has been DARK the past few weeks in the mornings.

We still need to order my birthday dinner from our neighborhood steakhouse. Looks like this weekend will be much better. Dean won't be so busy patching a hole in our roof. and reapplying the roof shingle that flipped up in a high wind storm right before a rainstorm. We noticed water dripping from the ceiling in the living room. Dean went up into the attic and put a large plastic storage bin to collect the water dripping from the roof. The next morning we had such a loud thunder storm with lightning that the house and windows shook. Our daughter's room became bright from the lightning that flashed near our home!!! It rained hard for a few hours. The sun then came out and Dean was able to get on the roof to patch the hole and put the shingle back on and made sure it was securely in place. The next morning it was raining so hard, it was like it was "raining cats & dogs"!!! Usually when it is raining hard, it looks like a creek moving from left to right at the end of our driveway. This time, it was a rapidly moving river!!! If it was deep enough...one could "shoot the rapids"...living life with risks and danger....
Four hours later, the rain stopped and the sun came out. Amazing!!!

Karen Oh wow! Is the leak fixed now? Roof leaks are no fun at all. We have a small skylight in my sunroom, and when it rains really hard it leaks around the skylight. Tommy has patched it a few times, but eventually it will leak again.

We have the grandbabies for the week. Allll week Their mom and dad left last night for Orlando and won't be back until Saturday the 18th. So we're keeping them for that week.

Last night was a little rough. Abbi is 2 years and 3 months and Peyton is 1 year and 3 months old. Peyton whined a little at 11:30 and midnight but went back to sleep on her own. Abbi woke up crying at 3:30. Took me a while to get her back to sleep. Then took me a while to get back to sleep. Then Peyton woke up at 5:30

Hello!!!

Carol, We have not had anymore leaks. Dean(hubby) seemed to have fixed the roof leak. No water found on the floor anywhere dripping from the ceiling!!! Even with a lot of rain almost everyday this past week.

Hopefully I can order my birthday dinner Sunday the 12th early afternoon. Dean has been very busy all week and all day today, Saturday.

We have a new cat. He's settling in, but it will take awhile I think.
