Do you use terms of endearment? Which ones do you like the best? Which ones do you hate?

I call my best friends by a bunch of endearments. Normally honey or babe/y. I normally call little kids sunshine or sweetheart. I give my friends little nicknames from thier name...my friend Fiona is Fife, my friend Emily is Emmy my sister Nicola is Nico, my friend Alex(ander) is Ale. You get the point.

I hate it when people call me "doll" or if a random guy calls me "babe". I can't stand it.

I don't have a problem with being called "doll" or "babe" if it's from a guy I know and care about. Cuz if it's just some random guy, it'd be kinda odd.

I call my girlfriend "baby" sometimes, but it's more in a funny way than a sickeningly sweet way.

I use them quite a lot, me and my friends always call each other things - fella, hun, sweetie, darling, delicious, pumpkin, bud, tinkerbell, depending on who it is! All have fun names for each other that just seem to stick. I quite like being called stuff, even random guys calling me babe.

When I'm waitressing or at a catering thing, random guys will say "Thanks babe." I mean, they are being polite and all...but it's unnessasary. A simple "thanks." will suffice.

Sometimes its nice...sometimes it borders on sleazy. Its just like when older ladies call me 'sweetheart' or 'darling' - it can be nice, but other times its patronizing. It all depends

I call my friends things like hon, love, darling, etc. (Actually, specifically one of my friends all the time, online friends most of the time, then my best friend usually just when we're being sarcastic at each other.) My bf, not so much but sometimes he calls me hon.

If it's someone random I find that just patronizing (unless it's a sweet little old lady or something calling me "dear".) If it's someone I know, I won't mind. I thionk it's one of those things that really depend though...it can sound sleazy, it can sound patronizing, or it can sound just sweet. And it varies depending who's saying it and the context. *shrug*

All my friends are "lovelies". My best friend is "Loverly". My boyfriend is "babe".

My godson is "baby" or "Hon". My goddaughter is "sweetheart".

I'm not much for pet names. Addressing someone by their own name is good enough for me.
