Field Of Innocence :

I still remember the world
From the eyes of a child
Slowly those feelings
Were clouded by what I know now

Where has my heart gone
An uneven trade for the real world
Oh I... I want to go back to
Believing in everything and knowing nothing at all

There's not much pure poetry in Amy/Moody'a songs but here is a very poetic stanza from Give Unto Me:

Fear not the flame of my love's candle
Let it be the sun in your world of darkness
Give unto me all that frightens you
I'll have your nightmares for you
If you sleep soundly

Have any of you yet lived through the loss of a loved one? This song really hits home!

Yes, right U R Sheida...it is that line in this song that forces a tear from me when I hear it:
"I'm still here...all that's left of yesterday"

The lyrics to Missing make me sad:

"Please, please forgive me,
But I won't be home again.
Maybe someday you'll look up,
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one:
"Isn't something missing?"

You won't cry for my absence, I know -
You forgot me long ago.
Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?"

This song gives me goosebumps.

Missing has some great lyrics! Very dramatic and personal.I also love her simpler, reality-tinged lyrics like:

My black backpack's stuffed with broken dreams
20 bucks should get me through the week
Never said a word of discontentment
Fought it a thousand times but now
I'm leaving home

from Exodus...or this:

I've spent so much time throwing rocks at your window
That I never even knocked on the front door

I walk by statues never even made one chip
but if i could leave a mark on the monument of the heart
I just might lay myself down for a little more than I had the last day

Wait a time to spare these lies we tell ourselves
These days have come and gone
But this time is sweeter than honey

Which is actually the entire song, "So Close"

yea So Close is mainly about the music. Quality melody!

But the lyrics are good

"I walk by statues never even made one chip
but if i could leave a mark on the monument of the heart"

Well, the music is especially easy; no strain at all to play but that lends itself admirably to the simple and soft lines in the song; a very nice match; expertly written! You have to wonder, at this time in their history, was this a Moody song or Amy song.

Do you play this in your band A-G?

I play NO Ev songs with the band...they are not fans...Just played together this weekend and I forced "Tourniquet" on them...the bass player stayed with me but the rest packed their instruments!I am on a desert island with Ev! But it's cool...I play Ev on my acoustic solo...I tell you, in this part of the USA, Ev is just an opening act. There is a concert nearby on the Ev tour on December 4th and you can still get tickets at the regular price...it is not selling out!

Just amazing how a band like Ev can only be an opening act. They're one of the biggest bands on the planet
