GOB was so great in Key Decisions. Everything from his vacillation about Marta, to his doing the prison escape for a publicity stunt, to his being jealous about his dad not playing catch with him, was excellent.
And then White Power Bill stabbed him to get revenge for the dirty ears thing, saying "White Power!" GOB's groan of "I'm white" as he sank down was perfect. __________________

I loved his little "ta-da!" That had me laughing through the entire commercial break.

Yeah, he totally rocks as GOB! The writers are good at adding depth too. In a lesser sitcom, GOB would just be a stereotypical villain, but in AD, we get to see the many layers of GOB.

Okay, maybe not an outright villain, but he would definitely come across as being selfish, lazy, and a pig when it comes to women.
But on AD he's three dimensional and well developed. Misunderstood is a good word for him. He clearly craves love and approval from his family, and he is sometimes nice when you don't expect it, and like in that speech where he tried to be the head of the family, realized that he couldn't handle the stress of being that important. __________________

I agree with you Cress, on any other show he would be the guy you love to hate or just plain the guy you hate to hate. But on AD, we get to see so much about him and his family that you can't help but like him. That's how superior the writing on this show is. And a lot of credit is due to Will for adding a lot of depth in his pitch-perfect portrayal of GOB.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that the man is a handsome devil with a sexy voice __________________

Hot Cops! The first episode I ever saw was Pier Pressure, I couldn't stop laughing.
Will is definately the perfect Gob. It's true that I can't help but feel sympathy for him even though he's such a cad, but I think that's true of all the characters on the show; the writing is so great. Hmm that voice... Chelsea Last edited by *~*Sparkle*~*; 07-26-2004 at 03:38 PM |

Yeah, he was great on Will & Grace. I usually don't watch W&G and I forgot that he was going to guest star, but I caught it by chance. Lucky me.
