I think that was the problem he worked to get her, but then kinda stopped trying, but I think it was typical teenager forgetting after you get the girl you still gotta work to keep them

I know some people interpret what he said that way but I actually see it differently

saw it as Jess saying that he shouldn’t be forced to go to town events if he doesn’t want to go to them

and I see his reasoning as being justified because most of the town was judgmental towards him and that would be a lot for someone to deal with that constantly

but yeah anyways I thought some of how he was written out at the end of season 3 could’ve been done better
