What did you think of the sprinklers scene? Did it feel natural or forced?

Writing wise it felt forced, but I think James/Sophia made it work.

I can't get my head around the fact that those two characters are supposed to have this long history of knowing each other through school [+ Peyton] but somehow they barely crossed paths alone together during the show until this point. It's just ridiculous writing.

The fact that their chemistry was so natural in this scene proved that it should have happened sooner.

Agreed, the show really needed failed when it came to their friendship.

Something I never liked about Naley is that once it started, the writers never allowed Nathan to spend time alone with other girls in the show.

The Rachel thing in season 4 doesn't count because that was an excuse for cheap drama.

I always said that Brooke would've needed him and vice versa in season 2/3 over their relationship issues with Lucas and Haley. They had common ground to discuss. But nope! Barely anything.

Such wasted potential and I probably could have stomached a lot that I hated about the post-season 2 years if we had gotten some deep Brathan content akin to the sprinkler scene.

I think it would've improved Nathan's character. He became such a lap-dog after season one that I found it cringey to watch a lot of the time. He barely hung out with any friends after he got married and he's not allowed to be mad at Haley for leaving for more than 5 or 6 episodes before the shippers get what they want again.

He never really had his own personality. Once they put him with Haley, he was all about serving her needs more so than his own.

That's the difference between him and Brooke: I never felt that she only had Lucas when they were together. She had other aspirations and hung out with friends. She could still party without worrying what her significant other would think of it.

No doubt about that, his character did really suffer from not really having any strong friendships on the show

Tim was 100% right in 2x05 when he said to Nathan that he's no fun anymore.

At least he got the last laugh when Nathan was forced to walk around town in high heels giving out cookies to strangers

Poor Tim. People always treated him like an idiot. I just think he was so used to being Nate's understudy that he didn't really know how to function without him.
