Admittedly, I got hope when I found out that James and Sophia were dating. I really thought the writers would feed into that energy.

Then again, I was dumb enough to believe that they would pair Brathan together after Haley walked out on him in season 2.

They did get more scenes in the first part of S6 then they normally would tbh

It's funny because you'd think they would have pushed Brooke and Nathan scenes to the forefront once Chad and Sophia divorced. They pushed Brucas more when CS were engaged, then they pulled away from it when they split up - then she dated James and we got one or two unexpected scenes but other than a sex-tape that came out of nowhere, they basically gave us nothing still.

I always got the impression that the writers were afraid of Naley fans. They had so many chances to do something different with Nathan in season 3 yet they just had him crawl back to her and basically he was treated like a fool.

I always said the sex tape arc could have been compelling but it was ruined when they made it all into an excuse for Brooke to have to apologize to Peyton for something and balance it with LP cheating on Brooke in season 1.

James and Sophia didn't date until around season 6 on the show from memory right?

Probably played a part, since Lucas/Haley's friendship was always better post S1 when Naley were on the rocks

They were definitely already dating by the time season 5 was being filmed, I remember seeing candids of them being intimate near the trailers between seasons 4 and 5

She had the season 5 hair in the pics of the wedding they were dancing at together, and I think they attended some Democratic party together around that time

I was literally only still in the fandom at that point for their real relationship everything else had failed me.
