Of course. But my point was that I doubt it ever occurred to Regina to act on her desire for revenge in that particular way before the curse and what it could do was actually presented to her. Regina is many things, but she is not exactly the world's best strategist. She works with what is currently available to her. If Rumple had not created it and made it available to her, I just don't see how Regina would have carried out this whole curse project on her own. She doesn't even have the patience for all the plotting and moving-pawns-into-position preparing that Rumple invested in it.

Regina explained her motives in 1x02. Revenge was a big part of it, of course, but once she knew what the curse would do it also appealed to her because it offered her the chance to begin a completely new life, away from the Enchanted Forest and all the memories that continued to haunt her there on a daily basis. A life in which she hoped to overcome the grief that was eating her alive, that made her feel like she could no longer go on living like that. It's all there in her conversation with Henry senior in 1x02.

It doesn't make her motives any less selfish and it doesn't make the way she was dealing with her emotional state any less wrong, but there is a little more depth to what drew Regina to this curse. Personally, I can relate to both Rumple's and Regina's motives to a certain degree. But in my opinion it doesn't change the fact that at the end of the day they were both very egocentric and let people who had nothing to do with Bae's disappearance or Regina's past suffer the consequences for their attempts to change their lives for the better. And this applies particularly to the Charmings, who had to lose their own child and miss out on 28 years of Emma's life that they will never get back.

Again: It's not that I don't understand why Rumple did what he did and I can relate to it to a certain degree. Same goes for Regina. But it's still selfish and it still means innocents were dragged into a mess and had to suffer for something that wasn't even remotely their fault. Whether intent is "everything" or "nothing" or something in between in this context is debatable, I would say. But that's something Rumple and Regina disagreed about as well.

And I love how the town has different reactions to both Regina and Rumpel. For Regina, they send an angry muderous mob. But for Rumpel, they simply go to his shop and ask questions. Hmmm....

Edit: Koda: I actually agree with your first point But I still think that Rumple did what he did out of love wherease Regina did what she did out of revenge and mostly because she didn't want anyone to be happy if she couldn't be.

I'm alright with the sneak peeks, but the spoilery reviews(not just hints at what's going on) these sites are giving are just too much. I'm all for spoilers, but seriously? They were asked NOT to reveal the end of the episode, but I don't think that meant revealing everything that happens before it. I'd like a little mystery to remain in what I'm going to watch. So I'm going to avoid any more spoilers/speculation til after tomorrow night.

I get that the press is as excited as the fans are(because maybe they're fans too) but a little common sense regarding what to reveal about the episode and what not to reveal would have been a good thing on their part.

That would be a lot of press that loses that privilege.. it's nice they got to see it before the actual premiere, but I think they should have held off on any comments til after the episode had aired. Denoting it with a *Spoiler* in the title of the article doesn't really help when they're spoiling the whole thing(and pretty much giving away the ending minus a few details). Because once you've read so far into one of these things it's too late. There's one I'm wishing I could un-read, it was that detailed. It's almost sucked the excitement over the premiere being just over a day away. Almost, but not quite.

Yes there are, and I would avoid them at all costs. Coming here for spoilers is one thing, sneak peeks is another, as they don't really reveal too much. But when the press got the screener, they were asked NOT to reveal the ending. I guess some thought that meant reveal everything else. Boston Herald comes to mind on that score(which is the one I wish I could un-read). TV Line did great with not revealing too much, and there was one other that didn't either.
(and I realize that it was my choice to go read something so spoiler-ish, but I was expecting something like TVLine where it just gave hints as to what was going to happen. It's like watching a trailer for a movie and they reveal all the best bits.)
