The critically acclaimed drama series "Nashville" returns for a third season. In the season two finale, Rayna was left at a crossroads with marriage proposals from both Luke, her superstar boyfriend, and Deacon, her first love and the father of her oldest child. Whom will she choose? And how will she navigate the turbulent road helming her own label, Highway 65? Juliette had lost the security of her newfound love with rising artist Avery, which foundered when she cheated on him with Jeff Fordham, the record label executive who has made no secret of his contempt for her. This season she will not only grapple with that heartbreak, but also with a pregnancy.

Will's sham of a marriage is cracking under the weight of his admission to his wife Layla that he's gay, and to the cameras of the reality show shadowing their every move. Will his burgeoning career be his salvation or an albatross? Scarlett, Gunnar and Avery continue to struggle to find their muses and voices within in the music industry, and the dynamics of their careers, friendships and search for love seems to shift continually.

Rayna's daughters, Daphne and Maddie, cope with their mother's engagement as well as her ever-increasing fame, while her ex-husband, Teddy, forms a shaky new alliance with Rayna's nemesis, Jeff Fordham.

"Music City" can mean so many things to different people. In Nashville, musicians and songwriters are at the heart of the storm driven by their own ambitions. Some are fueled by their creativity and passion for fame. Others struggle to cope with the pressures of success and doing everything in their power to stay on top.

"Nashville" stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Will Chase as Luke Wheeler, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Charles Esten as Deacon, Oliver Hudson as Jeff Fordham, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad and Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad.

Dee Johnson ("Boss," "The Good Wife"), "The War Room," "A Perfect Candidate"), Callie Khouri ("Thelma & Louise") and Steve Buchanan are executive producers of "Nashville." The series is produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment.

TFTNT!

So the song on the soundtrack that is listed as Chip, JJ, Clare, and Sam is actually the whole cast? I feel better now, lol. Maybe I'm not headed for SAG.

jbshmdfb 10-18-2014 09:58 AM

I can't see SAG lasting long if they go there cause I would imagine it's just an excuse to have S/G singing together again and then Avery somehow misses a show due to baby stuff and boom S/G are a huge hit and they decide to just be a duet cause Avery is too busy with the baby.

fox24 10-18-2014 10:01 AM

Yeah Christmas specials air all of December trust me I know I watch some of them

That's what it sounded like from what Chip said.

I don't think these songs will actually be on the show though.

And if S/A/G were to happen I feel like it'd just be a transition thing to S/G singing together again.

Cristofle 10-18-2014 10:30 AM

Well, if they do have a holiday episode (sounds like 3.09 has stockings), I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them showed up on the show.

Emes 10-18-2014 10:39 AM

Maybe. It's just the show and music supervisors etc. put so much care into picking the perfect songs to fit in the show and all the songs on the soundtrack where just picked by the cast members themselves which makes me think that they're not related.

Cristofle 10-18-2014 10:45 AM

Well, they used to:( Now we're just getting random songs that have already been recorded.

jbshmdfb 10-18-2014 10:45 AM

Yeah I don't think the Christmas album has anything to do with the episodes.

This makes more sense, because otherwise the wedding would have to happen at the end of 308 or beginning of 309.

And by the way, Mollie Bickley St. John has already deleted the Christmas tweet.

Jjou 10-18-2014 12:02 PM

Weird. Wonder why she did that.

I am starting to wonder if it is because of the budget cuts.

Cristofle 10-18-2014 12:33 PM

Well, they'd have more money if they stopped hiring random guest stars for episode after episode after episode. Or if they hadn't given Will Chase a contract. There is no earthly reason Luke and Layla should still be on this show.

soapbubbles511 10-18-2014 12:39 PM

We can only hope that after this reality show mess ends and it finally publicly comes out that Will is gay that Layla will be gone. And once the Luke/Rayna mess ends that Luke won't be far behind. Don't know that we'll get that lucky but :fingers_crossed:

Jjou 10-18-2014 12:48 PM

This week's episode was so much better for no Wheeler nonsense or reality show gubbins. How can TPTB not see that?? Fingers crossed both will be done with sooner rather than later.
