She probably would have talked them into season 8. It was at the same time DR idiocy to not notice that he only had one season and maybe he shouldn't have wasted it on useless crap!!!

For CW things aren't looking bright at all, apart from the new aliens show everything looks like it going to be canceled, also you have the good 4 to at least 8 million fans pissed at the cancellation of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars.

Am I bad? My best friend who I haven’t spent an extended period of time with in a while is here…and I’m posting, lol. Also, I made her watch the LL scenes from the finale. She was all “So, are they together” after the kiss….then, with the necklace thing, “Oh, see they’re together! Be happy!” I then went on to explain my happiness combined with sadness over the situation and the various meanings behind the kiss and “take all the time you need” phrase…..I got that “you’re crazy” look

I never thought a time skip was very GG, but I would have been very happy with it. Like I’ve said many times, I’ll always be sad we didn’t get a wedding…not as the finale, but in the series in general. I just really believe it was part of Lorelai’s story that was meant to be told & seen. And oh, April visiting and a FND is something I longed for….I cherish the moments I can relive on dvd, but I’ll always have my wish-list of scenes never to be seen

I remember her line about sucking it up & that always upsets me. Like you said, I just can’t understand why she did what she did. They were supposed to suck it up and marry…..for someone who could write so well, I can’t believe she didn’t think she could keep things fresh

Well they were moving along good with the Jeep stuff then the cap and song, then she went back into denial land, WHY! After the song Luke could have found Lorelai out the back or Lorelai could have gone to the diner late at night, "bing bang boom" they kiss and make up, all night!

Then a couple of happy L&L eps to end, putting the final eps more on the girls as it should be, leading into S8 with L&L together and maybe a proposal by ep 13. No wedding needed, unless the did the back 9. Then stuff LG they could have a wedding near the season/series end, maybe ep 20-21.

So who wants the last thread?

It's funny because I don't think many fans actually wanted a series finale wedding. I feel pissed when they keep saying that that was what the fans wanted and how that was just never going to happen because the finale should be about the girls. And I absolutely agree with that. But would it have been wrong to get L/L together before the finale? That wouldn't take any focus away from the show being about the girls at all. I guess thats my main complaint with how the end of the show played out. Not just the finale. Had they known it was over they could have played out the last 3 episodes very differently. But whatever. We will never have anything But Lorelai married to Chris but ending with Luke. I guess the finale wasn't any different than a finale for any other show on TV. I absolutely agree with MA on that. I loved it.. but only because I have to to keep myself happy. Overall it just wasn't how I would have expected Gilmore Girls to finish looking back at the episodes over the years.

I don't think Lauren would have done an eigth season under Amy. Not after what she did to Lorelai in Partings.

Nope a wedding in the middle of the season would have been perfect or even in the first 4-5 episodes would have done it. I never wanted it in the last episode.

I think LG liked the spice that Chris added ... maybe she would have liked to see that play out ... she was a fan of the L/L/C triangle ... because drama makes for better tv... IMO seeing someone happy makes for good tv

What ending ? I didn't see an ending. So therefore I'm bitter about it. I didn't even see a real beginning between those two. Yeah they somewhat, kind of together. Whoopee.

But she hated Partings and what Amy did with her character there. So I guess it wasn't that pretty around the set during that time.

DR didn't want to make Lorelai a harlot to jump in bed with Luke so soon, either that or that his creativity just didn't extend that far into doing it properly in that time span. So i think excuse was given that to keep the quality they refrained from any sex scenes this season.

For the longest time people hated what was going on, what quality were they talking about???

I really can't argue what makes for better tv, but there are boundaries. When you pass them all that is left is crap. So whether the triangle would have made for better tv or not i don't know. It might have it might not have, but i believe they pushed how far they could have taken the triangle in the end leaving nothing but crap also know as Season 7 or a big part of it anyway.

but we will get to watch the CW self destruct... that is some consolation
