'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Enlists Garret Dillahunt
Less than a year after Raising Hope ended its run, Dillahunt is going back to the network for a guest turn on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Hollywood Reporterhas learned.

On the second-year cop comedy, Dillahunt will play a detective described as the best in the NYPD — a guy whom both Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) would do anything to impress. Not surprisingly, the ace detective will become a potential love interest for Amy, bringing out Jake’s jealous side.

An exact date for Dillahunt’s episode has yet to be worked out, but it will likely run this season in the spring. He’ll appear in one episode for the time being.

I hope they don't skip over the emotional meat of this storyline which is that Jake's dad abandoned him and his mother. I don't want them to just have Jake forget the pain his father has caused him and skip to funny dad/son moments. As much as Andy's forte is comedy, he is surprisingly good at the emotional drama moments too. And I kind of want to see Jake deal with the pain and anger he must've felt for a long time over his dad not being there.

Also last night was Eva Longoria's last episode right? She signed on for four episodes and that was number 4. So Jake and Sophia are officially over. Sophia had some funny moments but I'm a big Jake/Amy fan so obviously I wanted that relationship to end because Jake being single is an important step towards J/A happening. We are getting closer!
