Yeah, I need the happiness, too.
I didn't used to as far as I remember, but I do. Revolution really had several awesome actors. David is definitely my fave, but I loved Tracy and Miles, and I can't remember Mile's real name. __________________

Billy Burke is the actor who played Miles.
He was my favourite, to be honest. Not that I hated the others, for sure. Loved David and Tracy. Loved Giancarlo. But Billy will always be my favourite, if for no other reason than I sat through five Twilight movies and he made it worth it. __________________

I almost wrote Billy, but then I wasn't sure.
You'd think after seeing the Twilight movies more than once I guess I thought of the 3 of them as a trio of cool people. Giancarlo was awesome. Terrific actor, and I loved him from other things I saw him in. __________________

The only problem, of course, is that Giancarlo spent most of that show very much isolated.
His character was always off dealing with other things. So his storyline was always kinda boring as a result. Too bad, too, because I could have really have enjoyed watching him, had he been involved with the others. __________________

That's true.
He didn't have a lot of friends or cohorts. Just enemies really, who always seemed to beat him. __________________

Well, Neville was a mostly hard-hearted bastard.
So he wasn't ever going to win. He couldn't. Still, it's really bad that Giancarlo was always so separated from the main action on the show. Hey, did you know he was born in Europe? Giancarlo, I mean? His mother was an African-American singer, both nightclub singer and opera singer, and his father was an Italian stage hand. Presumably, that's how he got that name. Anyway, he was born in Copenhagen. __________________

Oh how cool! I didn't know that.
He comes from an impressively talented family. Creative. Yeah, it would have been nice if he'd been more interwoven in the plots and stories. I think cause I love Giancarlo so much I kept hoping he'd change for the better. The opposite seemed to happen though. __________________

He did so well when he was given anything substantial to do that it was really a shame that it didn't happen more often.
A wasted opportunity, if you ask me. It would have been nice to see him around Rachel more, for instance, because he's the only one who seemed to have the true measure of her. __________________

Yeah-that, with him and Rachel, would have made for some great story lines of him telling her the truth about herself, and making her face it.
It was a waste of SO much talent. He could have been and done so much more. He was well used in Homicide, Life on the Streets. The bosses son. On Revolution he seemed to read and pay attention to exactly who everyone was and their personalities. __________________

I really liked Neville when he was a sarcastic bastard.
Just as I kinda loved it when Miles and Charlie were showing him up. Ah... so many directions this show could have gone. __________________

I know-they had brilliant actors, and some great story lines, and I don't understand how they could let so much to slip by.
Basically just to make Rachel seem like she mattered. Neville was awesome in the story lines he did get. __________________

I think Revolution is just one more show to add to the list of all the shows who got caught up in the storyline instead of following their characters.
There were great actors on the show and pretty solid writing, on the whole. But, remember that thing about how season 3 was going to have a triangle of Bass, Rachel and Miles? Well, that's what I mean by they got caught up in the the storyline as opposed to following the characters. Because you know someone somewhere went "wouldn't it be interesting if...?" And, aside from the fact that, no, it really wouldn't be interesting at all, that tells you that they weren't following the characters. Because no way would either Bass or Rachel be interested in the other. Under any circumstances. I thought Bass and Charlie had romantic chemistry but, let's face it, even those two was pushing the limit in terms of possible romantic pairings. Bass held Rachel hostage for about a decade. That's just not the sort of thing a person gets over. __________________

You are so right about that.
I hadn't given it that much thought as far as their way of writing, and they absolutely weren't following the characters. Yeah, in my head Bass and Charlie were awesome as a couple, but on the show, it just wouldn't have worked. Because she knew who he really was, and though he was changing for the better, she never forgot who he was. I don't know-Rachel was just that stupid. I hated her. But you're definitely hitting the nail on the head-the story was the star, not the characters. No wonder it didn't make sense half the time. __________________

It's a trend I've been seeing for years now... since Lost, really.
The concept of the show is more important than the characters. So you follow the storyline, and whatever happens isn't really dictated by the personalities of the characters. It makes it very hard to get to know anyone, which in turn makes it very hard to care about what happens to most characters. Revolution was actually above average in that there were three separate characters - Miles, Charlie and Bass - about which I genuinely cared to see what would happen. I was also interested in Neville, but not as often or as consistently. __________________

They really do make it hard to care when it's just a storyline followed, and not the characters, as you said.
I think the thing I loved most about Bass, Miles, and Charlie is they showed their changes, and growth. We saw who they were, where their stories went, and they showed how much each of them changed from the way they were. Neville, who I cared about, too, he didn't change much, but you could count on him to be who he was. Saw on Twitter that they are going to wrap up Revolution in a digital comic book. I believe they said 4 of the comic books. They made a big deal about the #SaveRevolution group/petition, and I guess we're supposed to be thrilled. I will check the first one out. They didn't say when they would start coming out. Or any details, just that they were going to wrap up the story. Personally, I'm terrified of where they may go with the story, and I'm happy imagining my own ending. Talking about the Miles/Bass/Rachel trio reminded me how glad I was it was cancelled. I'll let you know more details at they come out, if you want to check it out, too. __________________
