I don't mind the NASCAR update.

I'm just wondering, considering you're a Jimmie fan, is this a good or a bad thing?

That's the part I'm not so clear on.

It's a good thing Jimmie won and is starting on the front row of the Daytona 500.

I think it's beyond sweet you're willing to listen when I'm surprised by NASCAR.

Kurt just...I really thought he'd changed from the aggressive jerk he used to be, and I'm like "Wow."

I am just shocked he'd be so stupid and turn on women.

He was seeming to make a good effort, and I think it's a bad thing he beat his woman. Beyond bad.

I'm kinda surprised I didn't expect it. ??

A man is violent, he's gonna stay violent.

Unless he makes serious strides to change his ways.

Going after his wife is perhaps stupid... but I can't imagine it's unexpected.

I'm just glad this won't penalize Jimmie.

And, hey, I'm always glad to hear about things that interest you.

I won't always understand, so thank you for answering my questions.

No problems answering your questions.

And for listening and caring because I do, even when you don't understand.

Yeah, Jimmie is safe from this, and he protects and adores his family-a wife and 2 kids.

Also, you're right. Once violent always, unless they want to change and get help.

He's pretty much out of NASCAR now, Kurt that is, and I think that they made the right decisions and moves.

I must be very cynical, because wanting to change and getting help aren't enough for me with violent men.

You need to actually change and show that the help worked.

Actions speak louder than words, and all that...

Anyway, would that the NFL acted this switfly with its misbehaving men, huh?

Mind you, that sport is all about hitting, so perhaps they think it's normal behaviour.

Yeah, the NFL wasn't so speedy.

I think that's why NASCAR was.

Kurt Busch had put out such a positive image since he got in trouble years ago, and he changed so much on the track with the other drivers, I had hope.

But you're definitely right-when it comes to that.

Change takes a lot of proof and a lot of time.

The NFL hasn't done anything.

That's not just "not speedy," that's borderline harboring as far as I'm concerned.

But, whatever, you see what happened with this driver man.

Sports figures only really reform for the public image.

It's all show, no substance.

So maybe it's good that the NFL aren't even pretending to address the issue.

Well, the NFL better get on it.

It really disgusts me that because they are athletes, performers, have talent, that they can get away with anything.

I agree.

It does seem like where there is money, there is little incentive to do the right thing.

It's not like people are stopping their support of the NFL, is it?

So the money is still coming in.

Money and the big bucks-the Sponsors, like Nike, and all the many sponsors of NASCAR.

All of the sponsors dropped Kurt, so he's done. As far as NASCAR.

He'll probably end up in more racing in another series, which defeats the purpose of punsihing him.

If he's come back from a similar situation before, then presumably he can do the same thing again, right?

He'll need to work on his image again, but I'm sure he can do it.

Ugh, he signed a contract with NASCAR today, to do whatever they tell him to, and to complete anger mgmt. and mental health work.

They have someone working with him.

On the plus side, Jimmie won the race yesterday. Last year it took till May.

Fortunately, athletes are no longer considered role models.

I mean, I know there will always be people who don't understand that.

But I do think that all these scandals across all the sports has woken a whole lot of people to the fact that athletes are just people, some of them good, some of them not so good.

I hope that's true too Sunny.

That people really are aware that they're all just human, and they have the same issues everyone else has.

They just have more resources IF they take advantage of that and want and get help.

They have more resources, but they also have more attention paid to them.

This guy is not the only one with violence issues.

But, unless it comes to murder, normal people with violence issues rarely make the news.

They don't get noticed.

I think that's why people understand that sports people are just like everyone else.

Because their problems are just the same as normal people.

Sometimes, they may be a little amplified, but it's just the same sort of problems.
