Jason Wiles/Maurice "Bosco" Boscorelli Appreciation Thread #14 ~ You Got to Lose to Know How to Win

RECENT FILMOGRAPHY
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (TV series) :: Alexander Gammon
– Branded (2010) … Alexander Gammon
COMPLETE FILMOGRAPHY LIST
MEMORABLE JASON/BOSCO QUOTES
Jason Wiles: I was always a clown. In the eighth grade I won a city speech contest by doing an Eddie Murphy routine. I'm no good at public speaking, but if I can assume a role and speak as that person, then I'm fine. When I had to give a book report, I always did it in character

(Referring to how Eddie Cibrian beat him in the TV Guide "You Sexy Thing" poll)Jason Wiles: Oh no, I didn't have a chance. Eddie is my close friend, but he is much more beautiful than I am, dimples and all. He blows me out of the water. I'm a scrub next to him."

Jason Wiles: When I first started the show, I was known as the ‘cop nerd.’ I was in the 9th Precinct in the East Village every day. I’d be at work wearing a fake bulletproof vest with foam in it, then I’d leave and put on a real one to ride around with these guys .

(During his first visit to Ground Zero in New York)
Jason Wiles: The chief of police stopped me to say hello and his wife was there saying 'Look who's here! Look who's here!'. I had no idea that this guy would watch the show. That's a pretty big compliment.

Well, like I said, I like fish.

So it's not like I'm fighting a losing battle here.

I'm not trying to force myself to like something I don't.

So that makes it easy.

Yeah, but you're experimenting with cooking new recipies.

Thanks for the new thread.

Okay then.

But, just so we're clear, I'm experimenting within very well-known "limits."

Basically, I'm using my chicken recipes and swapping in fish instead of chicken.

Plus, I'm bound to mess up sooner or later.

Messing up is part of learning how to make it better.

I suppose.

But the ego still takes the hit, you know?

Yeah, it does.

I know how that goes when I try new things.

How are things tasting you've done with fish?

Are they turning out good, or have you not tried them yet?

I haven't started eating the new stuff yet.

I'm still in the cooking phase of filling the freezer.

I haven't done much with the fish yet either (it's frozen anyway).

Just one recipe with fish and ratatouille and rice, which I've had before so I already know it's okay.

Hm, that actually sounds good to me.

And fish scares me-bones anyway.

Do you have to check for bones before you use them?

I don't really watch out for bones at this point.

The filets come prepared, so most of the bones should have been removed.

But, at the same time, when the fish is cooked, it becomes flaky.

So, as I eat it, if there were any bones left in there, they'd become very obvious.

Oh, that's good to know.

And that makes sense that they'd become obvious after it's cooked.

I didn't know if you bought them prepared to be cooked, or still basically just caught.

I don't know how to butcher fish, if that's what it's even called.

So I need help in that department.

I buy my fish already prepared.
