I re-watched Vanilla Sky and it gets better with every viewing. Tom Cruise gave an excellent performance as David Eames, particularly in the scenes after the car accident when he's drunk/bitter and when he's talking to the psychiatrist (Kurt Russell). The Lucid Dream concept was a great reveal. __________________

I haven't seen it, Mike, but I remember how much positive acclaim it received upon its debut
Re-watched Friday the 13th last night. I didn't care for most of the characters and several death scenes just looked so fake but Mrs Voorhies was such a delightfully crazy killer __________________

Straight Outta Compton is awesome if you like hood movies and plenty of F bombs like I do
But a very strong and powerful movie. Friday The 13th is a OK movie. I enjoy crazy killers like Mrs Voorhies, they make the film good in general __________________

How It Ends (2018) a Netflix Original. interesting film, great visuals and cinematography, good acting and suspense, and an odd ending. i recommend it.

The Mountain Between Us is a snooze-fest and I'd like to know why casting heads always request Kate Winslet to play an American, instead of just casting an American I googled the cast and didn't even recognize that the man playing her fiancee was Dermot Mulroney he looked very different. I'm not crazy about Idris Elba but he was good in this. That said, I didn't care much for his supposedly great love with Kate's character
Re-watched Splendor in the Grass, an all-time classic Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty were wonderful together and should have had more shared screen-time, although given the characters' journeys I understand why they didn't. I wanted the ending to be different Also, something tells me that Nicholas Sparks semi-copied this plot line when he wrote The Notebook. Many striking similarities between Bud and Wilma's romance and Noah/Allie. Quote:

Personally, watching one circus movie (Water for Elephants) was quite enough for me. I wasn't keen on the trailer, and the hype doesn't excite me, just like it doesn't for Mamma Mia 2 __________________

felt like this was a homecoming for Zac seeing him in a musical again I really enjoyed/loved Mamma Mia 2 watching it with my mom (definitely liked it more than the first one) 1 week later and I'm still not over young Bill/Josh Dylan I was hyped for Mamma Mia 2 ever since I saw the 1st trailer and b/c it reminded me of Gilmore Girls and I was watching the show for the first time |

I'm pleased that you enjoyed it
As someone who didn't like the first Mamma Mia, I don't plan on watching the second. The first just felt like cinematic karaoke and the pregnancy story-line looks cliche. __________________

Fantastic Beast's. I got bored and decided to watch it again.

(Disney's) Moana. I liked it; one of the better recent Disney films I've seen.

I want to see "'Moana''. My local library has it on DVD, though the first time it didn't play too well on our DVD player, so will try again on at least another disc.
I did see ''Beasts of No Nation'' this week. It's a depressing film, but well acted & Idris Elba did well in it. __________________
