I'm still going over my ballot to make sure I'm positive about all my choices. I'll definately send it it soon though... I'm hoping to catch Cold Mountain in theatres before I do.

And now for some campaigning:
Please consider Johnny Depp for best actor in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
And also consider Charlize Theron for best actress in Monster.

Honestly, I think theron's performance is propbably the best female performance I have ever seen, she gets completely into the role. No holding back. Bravo.
Same with Johnny Depp. IMO, his best performance to date, and probably the most unique performance I can remember. *bows down*

And just a side comment - I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that only Revolutions is eligible, and not Reloaded. Do they have something against allowing two films in the same series to be able to win in the same year? Not like the academy would have recognized either of them for anything anyway. [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] I'm just curious, what's their explanation for this?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Perhaps the Academy saw the two films as essentially the same movie? That's also the reason Miramax moved Kill Bill Vol. 2 to 2004 so as not to hurt Kill Bill Vol. 1's chances for Oscar glory. (Didn't work anyway. Which is a shame.)

Nominations will be announced sometime on the 14th of February, Saturday, FanForum time. Yep, after the deadline of Friday the 13th, Valentine's Day seems the appropriate time to announce which movies and performances FF members love.

Announcing the nominees will be trio of FFMA nomination hopefuls: Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Bend It Like Beckham), and Jude Law (Cold Mountain).
