Oh, I knew I knew that house!
Okay, on the current one...looks like a recent film (made in the last five years), and the short guy in the suit with his back to us looks like Dustin Hoffman (or Paul Simon), but I couldn't find anything recent with him. So - was it made in the last 6 years (since 2000)? Also - I know the guy in the orange shirt but can't place him... __________________

Well, at least we know it's not Alan Smithee!
I know I know him, but I can't figure it out and I'm getting tired. Just spent an hour going through IMDb. The thing that bugs me is I've seen this scene. Was the film made in New York City or Las Vegas? I don't know why but I can't get that out of my head... __________________

If the guy in orange is the director...that means he had a cameo in the film. Correct?
It looks like they're at a check in desk of some sort...and from the sign I'm guessing it's a Hilton. Really, this reminds me of some stupid commercial for a car rental or something. Is it a comedy? __________________

It is a Hilton hotel. Overall, I don't think it would be called a comedy, though it has its light moments. __________________

So it's not really a comedy. Hmmm.....for some reason, I'm thinking it's a thriller or crime drama. I'm just grasping at straws though.

It's crazy - I went through the top 10 films and indie films for the last 6 years, last night, and looked at every single director's face if I didn't already know what he looked like (I skipped the female directors for obvious reasons).
No one even came close but I swear I know this guy. One interesting thing that came out of my search - there are many of the same directors overseeing the top films, but you don't always hear their names. I found that to be fascinating - there's only a handful of them that have been truly successful over the last few years, so how come we don't know more about them? *goes back to explore some more* Oh, and that's exactly the genre I was looking into - films like Spanglish, Punch Drunk Love, Sideways, that sort of thing. Am I in the ballpark? (and I know it's not any of those films) __________________

I'm coming up with nothing as well when I search imdb.
I feel like I've seen the movie but I just can't place it. __________________

I'm not sure exactly what kind of movie to call it, though it is sort of heartwarming, etc...I think I meant family-oriented, rather than about a family, though there is a family in it...sort of like Summer Catch, Here on Earth, A Walk To Remember-ish...maybe.
It's definitely not a top-grossing movie in fact, I'm not even sure it was released to theaters. But you can confine your search to 2006. __________________
