Haven't seen 'The Iron Claw' but I'm seeing so much critical acclaim and assurances that they have been robbed from categories so far

Definitely a busy month for awards shows with both the Emmy’s and golden globes
Interested to watch both Last edited by atwoodsmariano; 01-24-2024 at 07:16 PM |

I'm so used to Nolan being linked with Hans Zimmer that this is weird for me and I haven't seen Oppenheimer so I haven't heard its score yet... Might listen on YT soon

I liked this award season. Nominated actors and movies were interesting compared to last 2-3 years

Ryan Gosling’s performance was definitely the highlight for me
I was re-watching it again today via reaction videos |

I didnt follow award show this season figured that Oppenheimer was going to win big. Unfortunately winners are a foregone conclusion way ahead of time. The only surprise I think from this year was Emma Stone winning over Lily Gladstone.
I feel that Barbie got snubbed big time along with The Iron Claw not getting anything. However I did watch some of the show..highlights for me were: - Michael Keaton bit with references to "Batman" - John Cena streaking bit - Ryan Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" performance __________________

I do wish Barbie had won more too
Ryan Gosling really stole the show His performance is still what I remember the most from this year’s Oscars 2 weeks later |

Barbie was good and fun but it’s not a serious movie enough for an Oscar. The song should have had more of a chance though

I don’t think there’s a standard for a movie being serious enough for an Oscar personally
If a movie is good then it’s good no matter that I do feel like a lot of the time though some more comedic movies don’t get as much attention at the Oscars which is unfortunate I personally would’ve picked it to win production design or costume design - one of those categories It was impressive what was done with the set design and the costumes were really good too I think it was a strong contender for adapted screenplay too And I think Ryan gave a strong performance but I know the supporting actor category was tough I do hope Ryan will win an Oscar someday though He’s so multi-talented Last edited by atwoodsmariano; 03-30-2024 at 02:06 PM |

I agree (Even though I've always found the Oscars overrated and snotty) I still think Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie should of been nominated for best director and best actress. Especially for what the movie represented, being the highest grossing film of the year, and breaking so many records. They probably wouldn't of won but it was insulting to not nominate them at all, but they nominate RG. Like he said, without Barbie there is no Ken and without GG there is no Barbie. In general it was all a slap in the face IMO.

I agree they should’ve gotten the recognition of nominations
