I like Mean Girls for what it is, harmless catty fun... But I do think it's very overrated.

I never watched Heathers. I was a kid when that movie came out. And I don´t compare movies. It´s not my thing.

That's a completely fair decision Movies do tend to overlap themes etc but yeah, if you watch Heathers, it's hard not to draw comparisons. Just the whole set-up of the Mean gang of girls doing bad things for no reason than because they can is very much the center of them both.

But Heathers is definitely a more grown-up movie and covers more serious topics (ie. suicide). It's not really a film you can watch with just anyone.

The good thing about Mean Girls is that redemption is more of a theme for the characters and it is therefore more accessible to a younger audience.

They make a great comedic duo. The kiss? Hmm... I can't say it was expected or not, but them being disgusted is the most realistic outcome.

^ I always kinda felt that Janis overreacted in that scene, because she was the one who talked Cady into integrating with the mean girls gang in the first place, so why was she shocked that it involved stuff like holding parties? And she wouldn't have invited the two of them because Regina wouldn't have.

Always loved how Damian kept slowly driving, reminding Janis of his curfew

agreed . Plus, it was cute how they had Janis end up with the Math class wiz who had crushed on her earlier in the movie.
